Works by Canadian American artist Edna Taçon, 1940s, whose abstract, intuitive compositions pulled from her experience as a musician.

In the midst of (and will be for a long time) Proust’s Remembrance of Things Past. At this point in my life, I’m finally approaching this behemoth with a different sensibility. Boils down to: let the book work its magic & stop thinking of the page count.

Album cover of Feldman Volume 4 (Morton Feldman). Feldman is seated at a piano, jaunty hat, ubiquitous cig in his craw, as a thicc man wearing murderous gloves looms over him. The threatening aura is enhanced by the stranger’s head being cropped out of the photo

Part 1 of 4

A Peanuts Comic. Once again Lucy has goaded Charlie Brown into trying to kick a football, and (as usual) she jerks the ball away at the last second, sending Charlie flying into the air.

This time however Charlie lands heavily on his neck and is killed instantly.

Part 2 of 4

Lucy kicks Charlie Brown to check if he’s dead. Which he is.
Exasperated, and worried she’ll be blamed for his death, Lucy begins to drag Charlie’s now lifeless body towards the creek.

Part 3 of 4

Lucy dumps poor ol’ Charlie Brown into the creek and watches him float away.

Part 3 of 4 Lucy dumps poor ol’ Charlie Brown into the creek and watches him float away.

Part 4 of 4

Lucy heads back to Charlie Brown’s backyard to pick a fight with Snoopy in order to establish an alibi.

Unfortunately a disheveled, crumpled man with a cigar is already there.

“Miss, have y’seen this dog? He’s best friends with a BIRD. Can you believe that?”

That’s right folks. Columbo is here to avenge Charlie Brown.

Email killed the art of the letter. The sense of pressure applied to paper- whether it be handwritten or typed - gave letters a weighty ineffable humanness & also personal distinction. Add in the ghostly hands that bothered to delicately fold the paper so it would fit in an envelope.

Nuno Canavarro's hyper-influential Plux Quba back in, originally issued in 1988 as a private pressing, later famously reissued by Jim O’Rourke, full of early-sampling flights of the imagination wrapped around enigmatic, minimalist brilliance
