We installed a Bosch IDS Ultra heat pump and a heat pump water heater in Nov. We had a real mild winter here in CO but the heat pump kept us really warm when we had winter temps. We have solar panels so we just pay a monthly connection fee to the grid. Very happy we got rid of our propane hookup.
We just had the Bosch cold climate IDS Ultra installed. So far we're happy, we'll see how it does throughout the winter.

Like I've said before, if you have any doubts about climate change, just go to a super-boring insurance conference and listen to the super-boring panels where they dryly talk about the growing threat of disasters so catastrophic and unpredictable in scope they simply cannot be insured at any price.

I talked to a company a few months ago that seemed promising but still waiting on a quote. They wanted time to hire and train on heat pumps. Hope they are doing that.

I really don't know what the solution is, although hybrids (furnace plus heat pump) are one major option. This is after years of trying to figure it out.
