Apple Dev payment is failing on multiple cards, im going to assume it really want me to use a macbook (or apple device) and not be behind a VPN.
Going to have to put it on the backburner for a day or so until i get a bit more time to get it done on the iPad.
my first chrome extension landed in production. ModHeader started putting ads in their extension so I created HeaderFlow, a super simple header modifier.

Looks like my little ui tweaked are due to my bad dark mode implementation. Really have to sit down and clean it up pretty launch.

first build up and running as a beta on the play store. So many issues to fix, but the main story here is just how easy Expo is making things. I have a few app ideas that I'll migrate over from complex build systems to Expo just to save a lot of hassle.

App should be launched soon (this side of Christmas) but will see how that goes.

Working on this new #expo app, a social media app with no algorithms, everything time based, 2 way validation for friend attachments.
Gemini 3 is powering through the boilerplate which me just doing the checks and wiring.
Hopefully ready in a week or so. Landing page I'm hoping goes up today!
Stack is #expo as a mobile framework, #supabase for all the backend (for quick bootstrap) #nativewind / #tailwind for styling.
Using #gemini to get things bootstrapped as quickly as possible. Will go back and refine once I have a app ready to deploy and get some testing done

For a v1 (or better yet beta) release all I'm looking at is Timeline, Photo and Text Posts, Events, Friends List (with notes on each friend)
Other features can roll later. but the main selling point is still
- no algo
- easy
- personable
- fast and free
no idea how to monetize though.
This is going to include friend requests only being available in person, no searching of "friends" on the platform at all, to create the connection you will need to be either in person or at least texting / messaging.
This makes it more personal and beneficial to have a real world connection.
In light of the Social Media ban for Australian Kids I'm working on what I think a good social media network should be, Connections only, no sharing other people posts, no algorithm only time based posts and events that are designed to be private.

#gemini in Zed is such a nice integration, been swapping between it and antigravity and I think I prefer zed (even though I'm paying for ai). Just needs autocomplete support (edit predictions) and I could pop over there full time.

looking at react to build a new app, thinking of avoiding #nextjs simply becuase i don't want to use vercel infra. Is React Router the next logical framework? or use something like Expo even if im not building a mobile app? #frontend #react

Zen only works with firefox accounts and takes all mainstream from that. So worth a look if that's the only gotcha, they do have security in place.
Have you tried zen-browser.app yet? a lot different, but some commonalities with Arc, but Firefox rather than chromium under the hood. I've been using it full time for months and found it pretty good.
Looks like Gemini 3 is now out, going to give it a red hot go and see if it can convert my currently long AGENTS.md into a working application with React Native and Expo.
Hopefully I'll be launching an app in a week if all goes well.
Been a while, but been mucking around with #gemini over the last few weeks, surprised how capable it is making something passable as an app/website. Editing and debugging still required, but a lot of the bootstrapping is gone.
Having a comprehensive AGENTS.md is vital though.

Followed all the steps, set up in my GCP project, permissions and service account are all set up. Still getting an error. Has anyone come across this one before. I feel I'm missing a simple step, but have run through permissions twice now. #revenuecat #googleplay #android
Astro is pretty cool. Chucking together a quick demo using htmx as well and it's pretty powerful in how simple it is. Partials and server side rendering make it pretty quick to whip up a webapp.
