Without a doubt a new era of the cloud is starting and AWS felt the competition.
You can now lock in a monthly price for CloudFront, WAF, and DDoS protection. 🛡️📉
Tiers range from Free ($0) to Premium ($1,000).

AWS keeps improving the capabilities of its Console.
Today they announced the ability to create dashboards to visualize information about Cost Management, Billing, Reserved Instances, and Saving Plans. Removing a lot of manual work and hacky scripts.

🔥 Nginx announced native ACME support! 🔥
No more Certbot! No more external scripts! SSL certificates are now managed directly in nginx.conf
Build with Rust 🦀 available right now using HTTP-01 with DNS and TLS-ALPN already planned.
This changes everything! 🚀
I have never thought about this, but sounds like a really interesting solution for a small subset of use-cases. AWS now supports to force terminate an instance which frees up resources like Quotas and IPs without having the AWS team involved.

It seems like AWS learnt from its previous EOL of services and it's now making a full announcement. This is pretty good I'd say.

I know that for our usage this is going to be really interesting. For reasons we have a Certbot instance doing the HTTP-01 validations and renewing and then via a hook sending the new certificate to ACM.
Anyone implementing this in their environment soon? 🤔
👾AWS just announced Automated HTTP ACM validation through CloudFront.
This is huge, now if you have an application or website exposed through CloudFront, ACM and CloudFront will automatically manage the certificate via HTTP-01.

AWS just launched AWS Skill Builder Trivia. Looks really interesting to play and learn, I will be testing this on our User Group meetings to see how it goes.

The new verification methods that Bluesky is implementing is innovative. I think really AT Proto compatible and reducing the toll of being the only verifier.
Will be interesting to see it evolve as it grows but I'm optimistic about it.

🚀 AWS just announced the General Availability of VPC Route Server!
🌐 This feature makes possible real and automated dynamic routing between virtual appliances in your VPC through BGP.
Anyone tried implementing this in their environment yet? 🤔

This is bad, please everyone running Kubernetes have a detailed read and patch.
Well, this is a fancy one. AWS now allows you to easily sync between ECR repositories, no matter if it's in a different account or region the fancy part comes that it's syncing to ECR Cache. So you only sync the images you want.

Amazon just announced that CloudWatch is now capable of analyzing data for alarms for up to 7 days (instead of the previous 24h).
This one gets really interesting to be able to start alerting based on trends and past data which I think supercharges CloudWatch a lot.

It's official, AWS region Mexico Central is live. Happy to be part of the vibrant community of AWS in Mexico.

It's nice to see AWS pushing forward to get closer to emerging economies. You can now pay your AWS bill in 3 new LATAM currencies and 8 globally.
This really closes the gap between builders and tinkerers in developed countries and those in developing ones.

Now Compute Optimizer can also do recommendations based on heterogeneous EC2 Auto Scaling groups. This is an interesting one, lets see how good it can review "inconsistent" workloads and make recommendations.

Today I got confirmation from #AWS of an inconsistency between CloudFront VPC Origins and Custom Origins which breaks the implementation we have been working on the last couple weeks. How is your Thursday going?

Software engineers of the world, I beg you.
Stop disabling copy and paste in password fields.

AWS Local Zones keep expanding, soon it will look more like a CDN PoP map. It will be interesting to see how this evolves and keeps differentiating from CloudFront (as using different infrastructure).

What nobody talks about forced (and massive) migration is how broken you end up and usually how hard or even impossible it is to come back from that.
It's kinda sad that this is so true 🫣
Finally AWS is adding more useful visualitations into the AWS WAF dashboard. Really hope they keep improving these capabilities to quickly review WAF related metrics without having to go to three different services.

I'd say they're not. The users are publishers TikTok is just the platform. You don't become a publisher because you host/distribute content.
The newspaper is the publisher, the distributor (kiosk, mail, child on a bike) doesn't become one for distributing.
I have a coworker that used to live there. So I was really worried about his wellbeing.
I wouldn't say I knew a lot more than the basic European aligned country with Soviet background/past.

Copilot now has a free tier if you use VS Code.
I bought this one too, it's really good. On the heavier side but has power for days™
