Assemblymember Wicks and a group of people posing for a photo during a tour of a Community Land Trust property in the East Bay.
Yesterday I toured one of the amazing Community Land Trust properties in my district. CLTs are vital partners in preserving affordable housing, and they truly center the communities they serve. Thank you Richmond LAND, NCLT, and BACLT for the work that you do!

Congratulations, Oakland Fund and Rooted! This new 33-unit apartment building is exactly the type of workforce housing that will ensure we can keep our educators in the communities they serve, creating more vibrant classrooms and a more vibrant community.

April is National Language Access Month! 🗣️ In a district as diverse as Assembly District 49, language should never be a barrier to accessing resources. I remain committed to ensuring that every resident can stay informed, engaged, and connected to their government in the language they understand.🌎
A group of people participate in a ribbon-cutting ceremony at a Sutter Health event. They are smiling and standing in front of a branded backdrop.

A joyous Passover to all this year.
It was a pleasure to join the Greater Toluca Lake Neighborhood Council for their community coffee meet up today. One of the treats of being home over the spring break is the chance to catch up with neighbors at some of my favorite local businesses. Look forward to seeing many of you around town!
This is yet another attempt to usurp the Constitution and create barriers that interfere with free and fair elections..
Join my team for a volunteer workday next Friday, April 3rd at the Laurel Court Garden in Rodeo!

Blue graphic highlighting Assemblymember Rick Chavez Zbur’s Statement to U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in Chiles v. Salazar with the Assemblymember’s logo at the bottom. Reads: “I am deeply disturbed and disappointed by today’s Supreme Court decision that weakens critical protections for LGBTQ+ youth and opens the door to harmful and discredited practices. By striking down Colorado’s law prohibiting conversion therapy for minors on free speech grounds, the Court has prioritized a sweeping and overbroad interpretation of speech over the health and safety of young people. Conversion therapy is not care. It has been rejected by every major medical and mental health organization and is known to cause lasting trauma, including increased rates of depression, anxiety, and suicide among LGBTQ+ youth. These laws exist because states have a responsibility to protect patients from dangerous and unethical practices, especially when those patients are children. California will continue to stand up for LGBTQ+ youth and push back against efforts that put their health, safety, and dignity at risk.”
Today’s decision by #SCOTUS to strike down Colorado’s ban on conversion therapy for minors is deeply troubling and puts LGBTQ+ youth at risk.
Conversion therapy is not care—it’s a dangerous, discredited practice that can lead to depression, anxiety, and suicide.

Today, we honor those who rise before dawn, work long hours in the heat, and power the most productive agricultural economy in the world. Farmworkers’ labor puts food on our tables, but too often, their sacrifices and challenges go unseen. (1/4)
In California, the story of the farmworker movement highlights the power of community voices to create change, and advance dignity and equity for all. (1/2)
Today is Transgender Day of Visibility, and let us be clear: we will always support our trans and non-binary neighbors to live life proudly as their most authentic selves. Check out the LGBTQ Caucus for current legislative priorities and resources: lgbtqcaucus.legislature.ca.gov
As we close out Women’s History Month, I was proud to honor the extraordinary women of AD40 whose leadership, service, and commitment are making a lasting difference across our communities.
Generations of families and neighbors have made memories at Dizdar Park. It was an honor to celebrate with the City of Camarillo for its continued investment in this historic neighborhood park. May the park's refreshed facilities see good use by residents and visitors alike.
