Cool, thanks!

Anarchy's embrace of diversity makes it a natural ally to queer liberation. Imagine a world where all genders and sexualities are celebrated, not oppressed. #QueerLiberation #Anarchism
I'd love to see it. Can you suggest a link? (or a title I can search for?)
Anarchism is not a romantic fable but the hardheaded realization, based on five thousand years of experience, that we cannot entrust the management of our lives to kings, priests, politicians, generals, and county commissioners.

In the fight for queer liberation, anarchism offers a path to dismantle oppressive systems. A world free of gender and sexual oppression embraces diversity and equality for all. #Anarchism #QueerLiberation
If you ever run a one-shot, let me know. Or any other events that occupy the overlap of TTRPG and therapy.
Sigh, I don't think that'll work out for me. That's past my bedtime and would make for a late night.
Thanks for the invite. What timezone are you in?
I hope your game went well. Is this something you might consider doing again?
On Friday I'm running a social skills group and I'm going to try out a short RPG. I'm just winging it!

Black and white photo of children wearing gas masks. There is text above saying: "Don't fret about pollution, Capitalism will find a solution."
The state has had a hundred years to deal with climate change, and things have only gotten worse. Death and revolution are the only two futures we have available to us

INTERNALIZED CAPITALISM LOOKS LIKE: Feeling guilty for resting or not working "enough" Your self-worth gets wrapped up in your career or job Putting productivity before health Believing happiness = hard work Feeling guilty for taking time off work to process pain & trauma Believing debt is a morality issue

What a day knocking doors in the West End—pouring rain, but spirits high. And then, a visit with Don Hann, a force of nature in his own right. A gay rights champion, a feminist, a daycare activist—intersectional before we had the word for it.

"narrow forms of exploration and self development". Exactly.
I'm trying to think of a counter argument for why it is a good idea to genderdize... well, anything. The best I've come up with is it makes it easier to predict people's behavior. There is comfort in that.
Ya, there seems to be a lot of people talking about it. I'm going to dive and I learn.
Maybe this is the article you mentioned? issuu.com/thinkpublish...
I missed your session. Can you suggest where I'd go to learn more about using TTRPG in a therapeutic setting?
Ok, no worries. If something like this opens up in the future, I'd be keen. I'd love to learn more about it.
This is such an interesting idea. I'm curious about the therapeutic benefits of TTRPG. Have you gotten enough interested folks? Room for one more?
Ah, I understand. Ya, saying XYZ book is for a particular gender seems... reductive and unnecessary. Kinda like how some toys are for boys and others are for girls. So many things are gendered! Why do we hold on so tightly to those categories?
I'm curious why you think that. What component of the books do you feel would particularly benefit women?
Commuting or washing dishes with an audio book/podcast is the best!
Hmm... audio book. Do you prefer that form?
I've stalled at about 80% finished. (kindle version). It's fascinating, but I want to reread and take notes. It's not 'chew through at bedtime' book. Too mentally demanding.
Re "above my head": I hear ya. I love the idea of having room to grow, knowing I'm a shrub amongst trees... but it can be a slog. Some radical/post modern/anarchist theory is like that. Long sentences, with too few diagrams or "for examples".
Have you read en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Daw...?
Exactly. And like ruts in the snow (or mud... PNW, eh?) it's difficult to break out of how things normally go. But that's the only way we're going to discover and explore new places. Sometimes it's scary and risky. And making new trails can be exhausting, especially if you are alone.
Alternatives would be wonderful. For me, it's sometimes hard to know exactly what that looks like. But if an anarchist system just replicates much of the nastiness of the current system (sexism, racism, homophobia, ableism... ) then we haven't made much progress. And, can it be considered anarchism?
Yes, some evocative language there. I'm curious about what this means: "Justice in a well-ordered society is a justice sheltered from compassion and solidarity for the weak". Is Quan anarchism equals order, and order equals oppression?
I'll add this to my pile of books I want to read.
