jakelazaroff.com/atsw a minimal oauth browser client for atproto using a service worker

here's my take on a minimal oauth browser client for atproto!

no special API client class โ€” just use plain `fetch` to make requests and a service worker automatically handles authorization headers/token refreshes/dpop retries/etc.

(very experimental, not tested in production, use at your own risk)

first impressions of the Lego smart brick, before I do any actual tearing down: wow, I forgot how good they are at working with plastic. the injecton molding remains impeccable, at least for this specific piece (I know about their recent QC issues elsewhere)

Ran into one of my old college buddies today

dude was one of the most cracked devs I knew. like reverse engineer a os from binary cracked

found out she transitioned.

I asked her why, and this hit me like a ton of bricks,

"kiran, a computer contains no techbros, but millions of trans sisters"

ircv3-filehost-server Standalone IRCv3 `soju.im/FILEHOST` and `draft/FILEHOST` HTTP server for use with IRCv3 servers that lack native support (e.g. Ergo)

by the way, codeberg.org/whitequark/i... is now the most complete implementation of draft/FILEHOST, and it's mature enough that I can recommend running it on your servers without reservation :3

microcosm.blue/eat-rocks Restore a rocks database from object storage

did it. direct-from-object-storage backup restore for rocksdb.

this should make it *much* less painful (and way faster) to launch a new constellation instance from the public backups.

A demonstration of the same gradient defined as a light blue to fuschia gradient, with 5 different color interpolation methods. From left to right, srgb, which kind of muddies the blended colours in the middle to a light pastel purple, lch, which moves seems to move to the blue colour quicker, not creating the purple muddiness, oklch, which does move through the purple but in a more subtle way, oklab, which remains more pink than anything, and hsl, which adds a very dark almost internet blue at the centre of the gradient

we don't talk enough about how cool the color-interpolation-method is in CSS gradients

all of these slices have the same gradient:

linear-gradient(#00ffff 0%, #ff00ff 100%)

each one is just using a different colour interpolation

Thanks to the awesome atproto community advice, docs.surf lives to see another day! Was able to create a closed loop on Cloudflare and cut my usage to practically nothing. Should be stable for months to come!

./garden in a terminal, it generates a colourful rendering of a simple randomly constructed garden, utf8 characters for flowers with varying length stems, and in this case a single bee hovering above. it is extremely calming, for something so simple looking
