Further details (and planning) to follow. For now though, we can confirm we are equally excited to be hosting BILETA next year.

Over the moon! The top law & technology conference in the UK and Ireland will come to Scotland next year - it's been 32 years since Strathclyde hosted it and 9 years since a Scottish university had such a privilege. Going to BILETA changed my career, I'm sure many have similar stories to share!

An important takeaway – the High Court has made clear that the Code of Practice has gotten the law wrong. It will need to be rejected by the Minister.

New on the Strathclyde Law Blog, a post by our Professor Guido Noto La Diega and his co-authors (highlighting an open access article in the Journal of Consumer Policy), on the regulation of the Internet of Things for consumers in an era of cyborgification

NEWS - our Professor Guido Noto La Diega @guidonld.bsky.social has been quoted in an article for @euobserver.com about AI deepfakes.
www.strath.ac.uk/humanities/l...
Agreed, I explain how Grok is illegal (and what we can do about it) here: euobserver.com/rule-of-law/...
AI deepfakes are on the rise and regrettably they often sexualise women and minors. As I told the EUObserver, EU Law is clear that these features, applications, etc. are illegal and both behavioural and monetary sanctions are likely to follow euobserver.com/rule-of-law/...

2025 has been the amazing year that brought our son Charlie to me and my husband (he's just learned to walk 👣 ). I am so grateful to Professor Adelyn Wilson and the University of Strathclyde for allowing me to spend a semester on parental leave and then another on family-friendly research leave. This is a testament to the Law School and wider University's commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion 🌈 . I resume my teaching and administrative duties today with renewed energy and enthusiasm and I cannot wait to welcome the new students of our LLM/MSc Law, Technology and Innovation next week 🤖 ⚖️ ! I am deeply thankful to Dr Birgit Schippers for providing amazing stewardship to the master's and tech law research group during my absence, I know she'll enjoy a much-deserved semester of research leave 🤗 . I'm also looking forward to meeting my colleagues in and outwith Strathclyde Law School to resume our collaborations and explore new, exciting ones! ✨ https://lnkd.in/eVFDPDbt
After a year on leave, I'm back to leading the MSc/LLM Law, Technology and Innovation at @lawstrath.bsky.social, this semester I'll teach Human Rights and Digital Technologies, module coordinated by @adamharkens.bsky.social
