This reminds me of a boy at my nursery setting who wanted to learn about Mars. The kids made all the planets using balloons, papier mache, hung them in order, learned a song about their names and properties, six years later as they left to go to senior school they came back to nursery to sing it to us.

Simon, is the Strait open or not? I cannot tell what is true and what is not!

I don’t have a question, I just want to thank you for your brilliant contributions since this began. It’s both reassuring and terrifying to listen to you, if that makes sense!

Thought you were going on holiday James, it’s ok to switch off 😏

This article is all about domestic incidents so why is the Middle East crisis even mentioned?!?

This is why I don’t call you, James. I need to stay young 😉

Agreed. As an Irish person I was disappointed for Scotland that they let in the French try because it just makes things so much harder for them mathematically… I have no problem with them winning the championship, they have been great! They have to get past us though 😉

Not just that. David Bull pulling his “concerns” over postal voting into all his interviews! The attack lines are so obvious, it’s shocking that journalists and commentators are so unprepared to take these charlatans on and refute their claims in real time. There’s no excuse for this lazy approach.

As an Irish person watching, I’m not sure it was a good idea 🤔😉🤣🤣

Coincidentally, Boris Johnson wrote about this very recently in his Daily Mail column. Must be a very pressing global problem, much more important than war, drought, climate change etc. Who knew the airport terminal was the root of the world’s problems?!

If naming and shaming worked Boris would never show his face in public again!

My husband works with lots of immigrant high earners and they feel just as targeted as any other, because immigrants don’t get asked how much they contribute before they get their head kicked in! The rhetoric is appalling.

Absolutely! I think this is ignored completely. There was a time when only one person in a family went out to work so is that now an example of individuals not contributing to the state finances? There is so much confused thinking behind these ludicrous statements. Society is not just about money.

I hope it will be full of stories about wonderful immigrants working hard, raising families, helping communities, creating jobs, looking after children and caring for the elderly…..but of course most of those stories will never be told or will fall on deaf ears. And ugly racism will prevail.

@mrjamesob.bsky.social Sky news this morning, poll shows about 50% of people think lifting the 2 child benefit cap is a bad idea. How the hell is this even a question? Who are these people that think reducing poverty is a sign of a “too generous” society? Every day is more depressing than the last.

Seems this point is being deliberately underreported - I wonder why?

Going to see it in a couple of weeks. Can’t wait!

They only get taken seriously when they’re already in position..and then it’s too late!

A bit misleading. The report says earlier lockdown would have saved many lives, and with proper precautions and better leadership then subsequent lockdowns could have been avoided. It doesn’t say national lockdown could have been avoided altogether, as this statement implies.

Where I live, Reform will win seats unless tactical voting pays off. I’m torn now as Labour will be the most likely to beat them again, but I feel so uncomfortable with myself. I don’t want to vote for this Labour,I also can’t vote against them in this area, and Reform will be worse if they win.
🤦‍♀️

A very important point that constantly gets overlooked, deliberately no doubt!

Completely agree. I couldn’t tell you if I have ever been in a public toilet with a trans woman. If I have, that person has been so discreet I haven’t noticed. The majority of people in public toilets don’t parade around in their underwear, pointing out their private parts!
