This isn’t a trail. This isn’t a park. This is a street, with addresses, open to vehicular traffic, in a neighborhood less than five miles north of downtown Los Angeles.
LA is so quirky and weird sometimes and I love it.

Gold Creek Saddle. Taking a moment to rest, snack, and reflect on how hard the climb up was, before the only intermittently sketchy, consistently beautiful descent.

A couple shots from the descent down Gold Canyon Truck Trail after the brutal climb up Gold Creek. A hard ride with sub-par trail conditions, but the views made the suffering worthwhile.

Back on my bullshit (after work bike rides and posting golden hour pics of my bikes). Daylight Savings Time slaps.

Golden hour in the Verdugos with Chris last summer. Getting excited about DST starting this weekend.

Cyclist descending Gibraltar Rd.
Hang glider above Santa Barbara with the Channel Idlands in the background, as seen from E. Camino Cielo.
Some shots from our ride up Gibraltar Rd and down Painted Cave last weekend in SB. Life affirming, hard day on the bike. My favorite.

Selfie while climbing Gibraltar Rd last weekend. Brutal climb with epic views of Santa Barbara and the Channel Islands. This is the look of joyous suffering.

Something to look at in the next update: Feed Display Preferences reset to default every time the app is closed.
An unexpected payoff for climbing Gibraltar Rd was getting to watch all the folks hang gliding and parasailing from Camino Cielo. Bikes are rad. Santa Barbara is gorgeous.
LA sucks for cycling. 😉
Definitely shouldn’t be on profiles. It’s distracting and not aesthetically appealing. On posts, it’s fine. There should be a setting to hide likes for folks who don’t want to see that at all.
Adding a profile tab for photos in which the user is tagged would be a welcome update.
Tesla's stock is ridiculously overvalued, and even a modest consumer boycott could tank the company, which accounts for the majority of Elon Musk's wealth.

Observation Point is an underrated hike in Zion.
A scrub jay in Zion National Park, photographed in 2018 at Observation Point, overlooking Angels Landing. Can’t recommend this hike enough.
I’ve been stuck inside sick all weekend, dreaming of riding bikes in the mountains with friends. This is from a gravel ride up Mt Lukens from Jan 2024. Itching to get back up here now that the ANF is finally open again.
View of Temescal Ridge Trail with Palos Verdes in the distance, taken on a gravel bike ride up Trailer Cyn a few weeks before the Palisades Fire. Everything in the foreground burned in that fire.
@flashes.blue Bug found. When unchecking “show reposts” and “show quote posts,” both consistently reset to “on” after a period of time. I’m having to turn them off repeatedly in order to hide reposts/quote posts.
You can start a separate account for Flashes.
Seeking out pockets of joy in tumultuous times. Back on my (sunsets-by-bike) bullshit.
So, when are we having a general strike?

Ah yes, DJT, famously known for paying when he promises to. 🙃
