Refreshable + sharable + interactive. Mviz is for static reports :)

of course, works great for claude web and desktop users too, but you have to download the latest release and add it manually (annoying)
just shipped mviz 1.5 - now with mermaid support!
add it your claude code with `npx add-skill matsonj/mviz`
or
embedded it in your app with `npm i mviz`
github.com/matsonj/mviz
🤝
It also works perfectly fine in Claude for Web / Deskop :)
A gift for my Bsky followers- a chart and report builder designed for usage with AI.
Install for Claude Code (or your favorite IDE):
‘npx add-skill matsonj/mviz’
github.com/matsonj/mviz
😭😭😭
It sparks joy
Yeah getting it into something lightweight and runnable so the LLM can quickly iterate is key!
Stats for Atlanta falcons showing high probability of the 4 seed and very low for 3 or 5 seed
Finally implemented nfl tiebreakers in mdsinabox.com - so now teams have a much better outlook on playoff seeding. To wit: the Atlanta falcons

I've been screwing around with evals - here is my first one!
I know many of you are AI haters but its here and its real.
For this case I've looking at speed, accuracy and cost for solving hard NYT connections.

🚀 We've just open-sourced Embedding Atlas – a tool for exploring large embedding spaces through rich, interactive visualizations 📊.
Hope you enjoyed and learned something!
I suspect no, they probably care more about the iceberg parts than the DuckDB parts? but this is purely speculative.
i've also been spending a lot of time on pg_duckdb (and how to run it) as we prepare for launching 1.0 of that extension. Can't wait to share more
Something challenging about @duckdb.org : its a bit of a funhouse - many doors to enter that get you to the same place.
I wrote about one of those doors - Postgres!

!! Super clever
This practical example of how easy it is to bootstrap your observability is part of why I love working on DuckDB every day!
Another good strategy is partitioning your writes to object storage by date / time (i.e. by hour) so you can easily write naive queries for analysis and backfills, like `select * from 's3://my_bucket/year/month/day/hour/*.json'`
One of the notions we think about quite a bit at @motherduck.com is "handling data before it becomes big" and I think this example from @tigrisdata.com really nails it. The trick here is parsing the JSON on insert so its really quick to query it.
