Anchored out with nobody else around. We anchored under sail which we likely won't do at this location again. We want to anchor shallow at about 2 feet, and it's hard to get that safely without much control on our speed.

Had an ok sail today. The wind wasn't as good as it was projected, but we made do. We did just over 7 miles in the three hours we were out.

It was raining everywhere but the lake. We didn't stay out long, but we had fun.

We had a decent wind out of the north today. North winds are not great due to the fetch down the lake. The Great Salt Lake has a salinity of about 14%, which makes the water dense, heavy, and buoyant. This means steep waves with short periods. We were bouncing enough that we didn't raise the main.

Yeah, it's only slightly less annoying than I left my *thing* at home when on the boat.

I made some soft shackles for use around the sailboat. The button knot is apparently not my strong suit. Also my fids are on the boat so I used a garden stake I bent in the vise.

That is next, I have the line, but need to put up chafe guards, get measurements, and make a soft shackle before I replace it.

I replaced my clunky 1/2 line mainsheet with 3/8 line yesterday. It made a huge difference, it's so much easier to let it out. Also got rid of my double ended sheet setup which just left line laying everywhere in the cockpit.
