Title: Innovation and good practice in adolescent health: advancing youth friendly health in the UK.
Health Inequalities and Access.
Youth Participation & Voice.
PANELS - ‘Participation of underserved young people in North
East London health and wellbeing services’.
Overview: This NIHR-funded research
development project* is being co-led by
Community Action Redbridge and the University of Hertfordshire and hosted by NHS North East London.
Developed and delivered in collaboration with a group of young advisors, the project is bringing together local young people and people working in statutory and community services to explore how young people's participation can lead to more responsive, inclusive and sustainable health and wellbeing services.
Objectives: To explore how participation can best improve the health and wellbeing of under-served young people by:
Bringing together young people and adults who work with them.
Exploring what matters to people.
Deciding what participation looks like when it’s working well and inclusively, and how we can make that happen.
Co-producing an evaluation of the project with young advisors.
Results: The project started in November 2024 and will be completed
in February 2026.
Evidence: This work will inform the future development of the North East London Integrated Care System (ICS) as well as underpinning further national research on best practice in inclusive participation of young people in integrated care systems.
Logos: Community Action Redbridge, 'Funded by NIHR', NHS NE London and the University of Hertfordshire.
