Rounded off my day at university with the annual @parkesinstitute.bsky.social lecture with the brilliant and incredibly funny @realbaddiel.bsky.social - a great evening!

I agree though they were out of my favourite hot chocolate (they serve 2 types), so had to have the other one.

1813 back to campus now

1802 for a quick run into the city now

Cauliflower Mac and cheese with garlic bread and side salad for lunch… and another hot chocolate

I think you’re right - the objection I have is that it’s a huge investment to go to uni - so when it’s so heavily mis-sold, you almost feel as though you’ve been burgled! It’s really sad when they place profits over people and egos over education.

I’m okay - the academia is fine but they lied so much at open days about almost every facet of my university experience. The sad thing is I want to be proud of where I study but their lack of integrity leaves me feeling anything but. I can’t see me staying for a masters there - will look elsewhere.

Thanks! Study wise I’m going fine - just feel incredibly let down by all the lies from the open day. I had originally hoped to do a masters there too but I think after the degree I’ll look elsewhere. The academic staff are good but the institution more widely is a let down

Back to @unisouthampton.bsky.social tomorrow 😫 starting to question if I made the right choice in going there - I was sold the concept of a Ferrari at open days, but the reality is a clapped out ford fiesta which barely runs. I’m doing well academically but feeling really let down by the university.
