Idk if it's just me, but ever since MTG became the fortnite of card games with constant cross overs I lost interest in it. The digimon card game is my current favourite, i like the push-pull game mechanics of it

Back when websites were creative and not just 8000 trackers and ads in a trenchcoat.

If bsky goes bankrupt, this thing no one asked for, that they apparently put all their money in instead of making the app better, is why.

I don't think they are aware of how much people on here despise genAI

Big data companies make most of their money with ads. Since AI, advertisers can't be sure their ads get shown to real people. Hence ID verification is being pushed. If it was for the kids they'd just make exploitative retention techniques on social media illegal, but that would cause them to lose $

So this Anthropic study found that using AI coding tools made people learn less, debug worse, and didn't make them significantly faster at all.

Funny how these supposed amazing AI benefits never seem to show up in studies.

May all the ai-slop backfire like this

Source? I know the GNOME project specifically bans vibe coded extensions

I guess I'll have to switch to gnome or cinnamon and hope they don't use vibe coded ai slop

I switched to Linux to avoid Winslop, now there is vibe coded AI slop in my AMD gpu drivers and in my @kde.org kwin as well as AI Slop in Lutris... this timeline is truly cursed

AI Translations Are Adding ‘Hallucinations’ to Wikipedia Articles AI translated articles swapped sources or added unsourced sentences with no explanation, while others added paragraphs sourced from completely unrelated material.

sadly wikipedia is struggling due to AI slop: www.404media.co/ai-translati...

Project Helix shows that Microsoft considers the Steam Machine to be a massive threat. Why else would they announce it this prematurely with nothing to show for it other than promises of "it will also play pc games"?

As they should, they know players don't want content slop.

Developer use of generative AI may be declining New data from the Game Developer collective shows a sharp year-over-year drop in reported use of generative AI.

I sure hope it's declining and people are realising it just isn't worth it.

Nintendo could easily make NDS games available for the switch 2 if they wanted. Just make an adapter that holds the joycons while the screen is flipped into a vertical position and split the screen virtually. Since it's a touch screen you can get all the functionality back as well

I think Pombon's final evo will be inspired by the New Guinea Singing Dog, its closely related to the Dingo (Fire Fairy maybe?). Gecqua I think might be Water/Psychic and I hope it gets a turban idk why. But I can imagine it having one. And Browt might turn into a Cassowary inspired one #pokemon

So this is the vibe coding crowd I've been hearing about? It all makes sense now!

1 month ago 5 0 1 0

I have a strong suspicion that they vibe code drivers now at nvidia

dare I say it? the new pokemon game looks promising, with the longer dev cycle and all. If they give it the time it needs before releasing it, I might actually have to get a switch 2 after all... lol

Basically, if you use it as placeholder during production but remove it, or vibe code your entire game, its ok with valve. only if the consumer sees it, it gets the AI tag

Now that Steam quietly changed their AI policy, using a "Non Gen AI" seal like polygon treehouse's @kanaratron.bsky.social seal is gonna be even more important for Indie Game Devs. Being public about not using AI slop, even if it's "just" in the code, is gonna become a very important distinction

I think it's a shame when games try to add eldritch horror bosses and then go on and over explain their lore and existence and background... that's not eldritch horror, that's just a creepy tentacle themed boss now. Eldritch horror is supposed to be hard for mortal minds to grasp & unexplainable

Why blame a tool that has nothing to do with the bad optimization issue, instead of demanding better optimized games from the devs who create those games?

This is the same thing as the "Unity games are bad" fad because people saw the splash screen of the non-pro unity license shovel ware games.

3 months ago 1 0 1 0

It has nothing to do with UE5, it's bad optimization on the devs part. Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time runs perfectly on my amd systems and even on the Steam Deck. And it's made with UE5.

Think of Epic whatever you want, but this issue isn't an engine issue, it's an optimization issue

The more AI-slop floods the internet, the more I think there needs to be a new network that somehow manages to ban all this bullshit, and only allows human created stuff and somehow also bans data scraping by AI corpos. Because the current internet is turning into a rotting corpse.

I think the redline is the en masse corporate theft. claiming to "democratize knowledge/art" while privatising the profit made from the stolen labour. Not to mention the environmental cost, which they don't take responsibility for either.
