Definitely !
Him and Andreas Katsulas as G'Kar are simply wonderful !

No worries - sorry if I sounded a bit patronising with my reply !
Anyway, many thanks - it started out life 18 months ago as a slower scratch port of Nebulus for the Acorn Electron. I suddenly had the notion of throwing the Chuckie Egg sprites at it, and here we are ! π
Waterworld, showing its vast expanses of ocean.
The second expansion for #BarrenPlanet is #Waterworld. Dapra's neighbouring planet Dalen is over 95% covered with water. And at the bottom of these oceans: crystal nodes! Let battle commence! Get it at cyningstan.itch.io/waterworld. #ibmpc #msdos #cga #Waterworld
Great, glad that's sorted π
Like some other games back in the day, the gameplay is limited to the bottom three fifths of the screen to fit everything in memory (including a second screen buffer) !
This has definitely stuck with me for over 40 years.... so much so that I've just released 'Chuckulus' for the Acorn Electron and BBC Micro - a mash up of Chuckie Egg and Nebulus !
Odd - it was tested in Electroniq with Chrome and Edge.... and Firefox at somepoint IIRC.
There's always the BBC Micro version - runs under JSBeeb:

Hi I wrote about the making of classic platformerChuckie Egg and talked to its creator Nigel Alderton. Please give it a read as I want to show thereβs an audience for this gaming history stuff π

Strange.... was it a problem with the 'up' key ? On my laptop at least the ':' key for up (when using control set 1) maps to my '#' key.
Chuckie Egg was designed and coded by a 15-year-old but millions of UK kids played it, including me!

As expected I'm already running out of RAM due to an overload of cute graphics in the Prince of Arabia port to the Acorn Electron. Time to move some stuff to one (or more!) SWRAM banks
Ah, I knew there was another one - I'd forgotten about it !
Cheers, I'll give it a go ! π
I know.....
I think KnightLore/Alien 8 and BombJack (if that's ever going to be a thing) will have to use swram, but as I must have said before, I need everything to run on my Vanilla Elk loaded in through the cassette lead ! π
Fab ! π
Go for it, use the lot - first (?) 128K Elk game ! π
Thank you π
Yes, it's been quite a journey - about 18 months on and (very) off !
Greener pastures ? I need a palette change, so probably not green (or yellow, or magenta for that matter) ! π
No worries ! Hope you enjoy when you get some quiet time !
..... Totally suggest the Elk version over the Beeb of course ! π
Cheers Nick, that Elk to Beeb conversion took up more Mojo than I thought ! π€―
Cheers Rob π
There was mention of a Master 128 compatible version.... It 'runs' in JSBeeb configured as a Master at least.... we'll see, some testing required !
π΅ Burn me a fire in the reptile house π΅
Eek.... RIFA blue genie ?
Hope that's fixable....
π΅ like a healing..... hand π΅
So now I've got Patricia Morrison in my head all night.... which isn't a bad thing I guess !
Cheers π
That required a lot more Mojo than I expected ! π€―
Thanks for the handy tips with the sound π

Pesky.
We've yet to find a squiggle-proof bird feeder that's squiggle-proof !
Interesting interview with Chuckie Egg author Nigel Alderton, who is releasing it for iOS and Android systems.
Wonder what he would think of Chuckulus?

Marvellous, bookmarked for proper reading tomorrow !
I wonder..... send round the IP police ?! π

Cheers Tim π
That's all the sounds pretty much done !
Just tidying up some artefacts visible in vsbeeb....
bbc.xania.org
Image 1 and 2 are briefly visible when changing screen modes.
Image 3 is visible when shimming memory about after loading,
and that's after I've blanked the screen with a CRTC poke !
#RETROGAMING #8bit #thomson #mo5 Zezito and The Lost Stars - Thomson MO5
I am bringing this version to the level of the C64 one.

Disgraceful !
No problems here, seems to park where it wants !
That's better ! Keyboard now behaves in BeebEm and JSBeeb (issues compiling an up to date B-Em, so leaving that one)
I was putting #&FF into &FE43 at the end there instead of #&7F for some reason !
Will test on real hardware an see where I'm at !
π
Yep, quite frustrating.....
Switching off - you'd think it'd be fixed by the morning !!
