Today will be a celebration of my youngest with deconstructed sushi bowls, homemade gf chocolate something, and hockey despite the awfulness of our team. It is a lovely way to start a new year.

My sister on Vancouver Island did the same. I stayed up to wish my youngest Happy Birthday!

I’ve never understood why the sand/salt doesn’t follow right behind the clearing.

It’s sheer ice in a few spots shined by frequent use before they lay down traction.

Didn’t realize the beets had leaked all over a bag of carrots I hauled out and tossed on the counter. My hands and the entire kitchen look like a murder scene.

I float over social. Not spending much time except to connect with people who value that connection.

I hurt for my friends, for the unwarranted vitriol, for the pain they endure.

I actually read quite quickly - I slow down for non-fiction. And it felt really good to toss myself into the rhythm. Haven’t had a good binge in a while. 😂

Just learned that a group of juncos is called a chittering or flutter…

So this morning we had a visiting murder, a flutter, a banditry, a party, and a flock drop in for breakfast.

This week we are playing with all new recipes.

Should be fun. And interesting as 5/7 are meatless.

Apparently, dinner time was the right time to go vote.

In and out in less than 10 minutes.

They said it had just slowed down after long lines from this morning.

I prefer to acknowledge, recognize, and celebrate what others don’t see, educate on what they don’t know.

I get this. And as someone who works in inclusion, and walks my talk - there are folks excluded on a regular basis because ‘norms’.
