π₯ This morning, BASW member Patriche Bentick gave evidence to members of the House of Lords on the effectiveness of the Domestic Abuse Act for England and Wales.
One action BASW is calling for is raising the age limit of full statutory support to 21 and to recognise 16-year-old care leavers as older children rather than young adults.

π° A review into the disproportionately higher number of care leavers who die young is being launched by the Westminster government.
This review must listen to the experiences of young care leavers and result in long-term meaningful action that better protects and supports young people.
π¨ BASW expresses concern following revelations of a collapse of care at St Andrewβs mental health hospital in Northampton, and the subsequent decision by NHS England to notify NHS commissioners to find alternative placements for the 287 people currently detained in appalling conditions.
