I want to make a request for a Marple and Detective Chimp team up. :)

I knew what it was without the sound right from the start - lol
That logo is dynamite!! One of my favorites from that era
I realize that I, a 62 year old gay married man, am not the intended demographic of the Super Mario Galaxy Movie thing but we were out shopping for shoes and saw it was playing at the Alamo Drafthouse there and decided to see it on a whim and found it to be a delightful romp & the graphics r amazing
this came out when I was just starting to read super hero comics - this series ended in a cliffhanger, never to be resolved.. aggghh! lol :)
There was a time when the president inspired pride instead of exhaustion. I miss that more than I can say.
in other words, I wouldn't spend a lot of $ on tracking it down - there are recaps online and frankly that will suffice (but the one I read after the initial post did not mention the most egregious thing about it but perhaps that's for the best)
sorry: sample things that they might *not* usually read. / as a side note: I've heard that it's not on the DC Universe app which I think I understand why given some of the questionable stereotypes (which honestly was questionable when published and I'm sure has not improved with the decades).
for the time it was published, it did what it set out to do - tell a big story, involve a lot of books getting people to sample things that they might usually read. now, it wasn't a *great* story and there's some uhm problematic stuff in there but I think worth reading as a time capsule of sorts.
Millenium and Legends were good solid crossovers of the time
We are experiencing some service interruptions and our team is working on the issue. You can find the latest updates at status.bsky.app or follow @status.bsky.app.
her secret identity: Bark Hamill! (we just finished a rewatch so it's top of mind)
“The angels approached me with tears in their eyes saying ‘sir, we are very glad youre here’”
the only thing missing is a 'my pillow'.
The Flash 768
I'm purging a lot of the hardcopies of my comics both old and new and this week's re-read before donating to Housing Works is @spacekicker.bsky.social 's 30+ issue run on The Flash - I'm 8 issues in & just loving it every bit as much as I did when I first read a few years ago. Thanks, Jeremy!
I should add here- the phrase "holy fuck" was uttered on many occasions at the movie and, well, during the tricking the weekend before. :) <wink>
I am notoriously squeamish around slasher films and had no idea what I was getting myself into ... it was perhaps a poor choice to go to on a first date with someone I had tricked with the weekend before. Whoops. the phrase "holy fuck!" was uttered on many occasions. lol

I just re-read the first Starman arc in a collected edition I have - I've been pruning my books and re-read wondering if I needed both the comics and the edition - and I can't part with it. It's too good not to have. So will be looking for this special!
I've lost track too - it used to bug me but now I just handwave everything away.
the Barry who came back is not the same as the Barry who died - but I guess, given the length of time he was gone, a change in the character (as well as his backstory) was bound to happen - I don't think it was for the better but <shrug> whatchagonnado?
the original Infinity Inc got such a raw deal - I thought it was a good idea in theory but with the crisis happening, it really had to continually revise themselves and I imagine that got to be a real drag.
I watched live at a party at college - we knew what was coming but it did not diminish the horror of it
the use of the emoji only serves to underline the 'everyone is 12, now' argument.

THAT IS JUST THE LAUGH I NEEDED TONIGHT. THANK YOU! :)
I'm not into the series but I love the art and am very glad for DCs (and the industrys) success.... and I'm all for a better timeline breaking through to ours!!
loved it as a kid and THAT MOMENT still gives me the willies! lol :)
I was reminded on Kupperberg's FB account of the logo for The Changeling and I think it's one of THE BEST DC ever did. The Harvey Thriller line had some great logos too, esp Jack Q Frost. Bad logos include the Action Comics w/o the razor cuts and (ugh) the various Batman logos of the last 20 years.
