Describe your story in ONE sentence… but make it hurt.

Quick question for writers:

When was the last time someone gave you feedback that actually made your story better?

Not “this is good.”
Not “I like it.”

Real feedback.

Most scenes don’t fail because they’re bad.

They fail because something small isn’t working
and it affects everything.

We read our stories with context.

Readers don’t.

Sometimes you don’t need to rewrite your story.

You just need to see it clearly.

Your story makes perfect sense to you.

That’s the problem.

One of the hardest parts of writing:

You can feel something is off…
but you can’t clearly explain what it is.

Writers

What’s the one scene you’ve rewritten so many times…
you don’t even trust it anymore?

Yeah that's true
As once a reader before, If you want to write a book as fast as you can, hours always disappear

why does it feel different
when someone else reads your work?
like the story
is no longer just yours
but something
alive

When a scene feels off,
it’s usually not the whole scene

it’s one small thing
that throws everything else out of place.

Still trying to get better at spotting what that thing is.

Quick question for writers here
Have you ever read your own chapter
and felt like something was off…

but couldn’t clearly explain what it was?

I’ve noticed that’s where most writers get stuck
not in writing, but in identifying the problem.

Curious if anyone else experiences this.

A simple way to test your scene:
Ask yourself

“If a new reader picked this up, would they clearly understand what’s happening and feel something?”

If the answer is “I think so”…

That’s usually where clarity is missing.
