Excited to be leading this work. The annual road side seat belt survey provides critical data that drive interventions to reduce motor vehicle crashes and prevent injury. Last year we found 88.8% of Georgia drivers were wearing seat belts and 6.6% of drivers were using on hand held devices.

For the 4th year, the Georgia Governor's Office of Highway Safety has awarded @iprcemory.bsky.social a grant to measure rates of seat belt use and track distracted drivers. From May through August, IPRCE will go to 400 sites in 20 Georgia counties to collect data.
