Yesterday, a case I worked on in law school won at our state Supreme Court in a HUGE victory for cell phone privacy.

Today, a prosecutor threw me under the bus to a judge by blaming me for something that wasn’t my fault because there was a “learning curve issue”

And that’s what litigation is 🤪

lol exciting but tragic is the perfect way to describe it. I fear my brain is permanently rotted through bc I was giddy as I watched discovery and saw the good facts roll in.

The cherry on top was filing it over lunch and then getting to watch the prosecutor’s face in court when she read it

Also to be clear it’s exceedingly rare to have the facts to back up a motion like this. In this case, I think I do.

just filed a motion calling the prosecutor in my case a racist and asking the judge to dismiss the case for discriminatory prosecution 🤪

No one believes me when I say this but, on the whole, I vastly prefer my felony clients to my misdemeanor ones! There’s much, much less “I refuse to take any offer but also I refuse to go to trial but also I won’t agree to a continuance”

There was no logic to this btw. The logic was “I’m mad this case exists at all so therefore I will do my best to make it exist longer”. The case was still dismissed over our objection dw

I finished my last misdemeanor case from my former caseload today and my client made me object to the hard-fought dismissal we got. Relatively typical misdemeanor client behavior I hate to say it.

I’m constantly arranging and rearranging so I feel that! My husband made me a perfume cabinet as an anniversary gift this year and that also made me realize that it’s easier for me to look at fewer perfumes and just change them out more often. The visual clutter gets to me!

I separate first by season (ones out of season live in a drawer) and I group the shelves in my cabinet by the vibe/feeling they give me
