Validate to yourself that these words aren’t true and remain confident and strong in your values. Focus on the support that you have. Don’t let the negative folks derail you from who you know yourself to be and why you chose to run.

Running for local office isn’t as scary as I thought it would be. Sure, some folks are rude and say mean things about you. But, having a strong sense of self and remembering who you are will serve you. Especially when people say lies or spread rumors about you.
