Damn, those look amazing! Great use of color mixes here, really inspiring what you can do with what's supposed to be a fun gimmick pen!

The way stuff gets around on bsky is more like tumblr (reblogs and tags) than an algorithm pushing posts.

Like tumblr, hashtags are used for looking through people's work. Press and hold a tag to get options

You can also post links without getting deboosted

A two-panel comic drawing. The first panel says “why use water-hungry AI…”, accompanied by an abstract drawing of a dark cloud extending fingers into Earth or water. The second panel says “when you can support dehydrated artists?”. The image is of a skull next to a paintbrush and a palette. The skull says “we’re very low impact”.

I do have a 16" laptop with a 4k screen that I can also draw on, but I often set the screen to 2k, because I don't like how small everything gets at 4k. And my main art program, good ol' SAI, can't scale to 4k, so the UI gets so tiny it becomes unusable. 😂

I'd say it depends on the size you want to go with! I don't have a 4k tablet, but a 2k XP-Pen Artist 24 Pro, which is really nice to work with. I really like the 2k size, but I think 4k would also work great at that screen size.

My only "issue" with the 24 is that it's a bit too big, but it is more comfortable for daily use than the 14. If I replaced the 24, I would look at the Pro 19 (gen 2) or Pro 22 (gen 2). I'd also make sure the resolution is 2k or 4k! 2K is very sharp on my 24, but HD is a little blurry on the 14.

I switched from Wacom Intuos L to XP-Pen 10 years ago with no regrets. Had a 15.6 one first and now use the Artist 24 Pro since 2021. Just recently bought the Artist Pro 14 (gen 2) for travel. From a technical stand-point they're amazing, never had any issues with pen pressure activation or drivers.

digital fan art of a scene from campaign 4 episode 4 of Critical Role, illustrating Aranessa and Thaisha running. Aranessa is depicted as a light-skinned thin human with long ginger hair in a disheveled updo, wearing a dark green dress. Thaisha is a much taller, more muscular and heavy-set green-skinned orc, with long kinky dark hair, dressed in a red sleeveless tunic and comfortable dark pants. both of them are rushing to the bridge that is just visible at the edge of the picture; Aranessa has picked up some of her skirts and kicked off her shoes, bare feet against cobblestone, reaching towards the invisible barrier between Estate Davinos and safety. Thaisha is a step behind her, Occtis's dead body slung over one of her shoulders. there is blood smeared across Aranessa's face, some flowing from her nose; Thaisha's shoulder is covered in Occtis's blood. they are illuminated by the light of the full moon peeking from behind dense clouds, casting an eerie teal glow over them.

Oh my goooddhh, that looks amazing! Love how you did Thaisha's hair, thank u for putting beef on her, and the detail of Aranessa being barefoot is so good. But also, the way Occtis' limb hand is flapping behind-

Frustrated little dude gripping a pencil saying “how do I pack this down into something I can actually share?” While swirling rainbows labeled “INFINITE POTENTIAL” float around them.

Little dude frowns at a tiny grey box, exclaiming “all that work for THIS?!”

Little dude shoves the grey box into another little guy’s hands; Frowning, stomping off, and saying “Here you go, I made this, it sucks.”

Second little dude cracks open the box, swirling rainbows project out onto their face.

Second little dude stares in awe at all the swirling rainbows now floating around them.

Sometimes we’re unsatisfied with a thing we made because when it only existed in our head, we saw all the things it could have been and when it’s done we know all the things that it isn’t, but we can’t see the way it expands into a million new things when someone else unpacks it in their head. 🖊️🦑

The two cuddling (Unavar & Emery) are best friends, who just prior to the depicted scene tentatively talked about maybe feeling a little more than friendship for each other. The third one (Nephar) is friends with both, vaguely but not quite sibling-raised-by-big-sister-vibes with Una.

I find it so interesting, for some reason, that you use a dark color set to a bright mode for highlights and a light color set to a dark mode for shadows. Never thought about trying it out that way!

Technically not exclusively for BYW, but it'll do. Finally finished my Beauyasha fic, yay! Set right after the Cathedral fight, Yasha's POV. Absolutely H/C, sad and sweet, a little spicy.

Illustration of Vex, Imogen, and Jester from Critical Role. Imogen is in the center with Vex and Jester flanking either side in Art Nouveau-esque frames. In the top center of the frames is a starburst design. Each figure has a radiant white light emanating from them.

1. Buff butch
2. Some guy with ambiguous gender who is nonconforming no matter the angle
3. Druid / Animal shapeshifter

Several may apply at once. Also, everyone has Family Trauma and somehow curly hair.

Did AI kill your job? If so, I want to hear about it.

The response to my story on the AI jobs crisis has been overwhelming. I heard from so many people impacted by AI that it made me want to collect and organize these stories to better understand the phenomenon.
