Describing the impetus for the $750 government supply purchasing card, Ford says: "I went into a store and one teacher was buying stuff for their class out of their own pocket. I went into another store and I saw a couple teachers buying it...I even offered to pay one"

Ford on Trustees: "Their focus should be spending money with students, with teachers, and working with parents. That's their focus. And what we announced is $750 for each teacher."
Per a 2025 FAO report: "real per-student...funding to school boards was...the lowest level over the last 10 years."
When asked when Provincial Supervision will be lifted in Near North DSB, Doug Ford references a story about a board NOT currently under supervision - BHNCDSB.
Ford doesn't seem to know why Near North is under supervision.

The full results of AltNo’s anti-HSR survey conducted by Abacus probably come as a bit of a disappointment to the organization.
Cross-party support for the project.
The full results of AltNo’s anti-HSR survey conducted by Abacus probably come as a bit of a disappointment to the organization.
Cross-party support for the project.
They are highlighting the results of a recent survey they commissioned from Abacus - claiming “weak support” based on the fact that “only 25% strongly support” the rail line.
I might call this a mischaracterization of the results.
Alright, @chanface.bsky.social suggested I bring this over here. Apparently there is an Anti-Highspeed Rail Lobby group called "AltNo".

I love a good Serifed font, don’t get me wrong, but they’re fit for print, not display.
They also work well as header or “Display” font.
I’m disappointed @bonniecrombie.bsky.social, Ontario deserves more.
Ontario needs a justice system that takes violent criminals off the streets, and provides rehabilitation and opportunity to all who are capable of attaining it.
We need a system that doesn’t persecute the poor and middle class for inability to afford adequate representation.
We need to fund legal aid, so people have access to the representation they deserve.
We need to fund our diversion programs, and provide real, meaningful opportunities for community service.
Police don’t need more money. They have more than enough money.
We need to fund our jails to prevent overcrowding leading to extraordinary bail.
We need to fund our courts so we can provide the accountability AND access people deserve.
The Ontario Liberals should not be handing checks to the police as measure to address crime.
This is embarrassing.
So the question for the future isn’t going to be about encryption at all. It’s going to be about who “owns” these agents, or more specifically, who has the right to ask them questions. Is it only you? And how do we ensure that?
“There is good reason to criticize what happened at SDTC… But the opposition has also gone far too far, throwing around accusations of corruption and criminality without any justification.”

Are there any *good* teams in the NFL? I don’t think so. Listen as I explain why your favourite team - yes yours, is actually bad.
New Scrimshaw Show! I had @nathanielarfin.bsky.social on to talk through the NFL season so far in broad strokes, talk about the inner ring contenders, suss out who’s on the fringes, and label some teams pretenders in the grand scheme —> youtu.be/rwtcG-pGWMg?...
It's not going to happen for fairly obvious political reasons, but wouldn't it be fun if the LPC's best communicator was also a front-bencher, even if just for a fleeting moment.
Is there a TweetDeck clone for this platform yet? That would make Bksy the X-killer for me. I miss TweetDeck.
Might be time to brush off the ol' Nuclear Winter map.
"We are being flooded with a torrent of misinformation, disinformation, and excuse making by the Indian government. For Canadians to meet the moment, we need to be aware of the lies, and know how to counter them"
Me too, I guess.
We’ll see how things go here.
Not done in the other place for now, but the wave is crashing.
