Estremece pensar que hay al menos 12 gobiernos en la UE que quieren seguir dando alas a un Estado que ha cometido un genocidio (incumpliendo las obligaciones de la convención que han firmado) y que ocupa ilegalmente territorio en tres estados reconocidos como tales por una mayoría en la ONU.

No conocemos la lista de los países que estaban a favor y en contra, entre otras cosas porque seguramente no ha habido votación. Pero el hecho es que no se ha conseguido una cifra de 15 estados miembros que representen al menos el 65% de la población de la UE (necesario para la suspensión parcial).

Presentado así, parecería que la UE es una cosa, e Irlanda, España y Eslovenia, otra. Y no. Los tres estados miembros han vuelto a plantear la suspensión en el seno del Consejo de la UE, mientras que otros (entre los que destacan Alemania e Italia) se han opuesto.
