Thanks to Julia Kelley at jkphotography for this photo of me performing Shostakovich’s Alexander Blok Songs last month. In the second song, Gamayun, or Prophetic bird, (let’s call her a phoenix) cries tears of blood when seeing visions of war, crime, death, and corruption. Wildly prophetic indeed.

Thanks to Levine Music for having me as a judge in the Charles & Ruth Williams vocal competition today. Was lovely hearing the singers and meeting fellow judge and soprano Caitlin Wood, and great to meet the folks at Levine Music. All in all, lovely first experience on the other side of the table!
