As a high school student many years ago, I read Speer’s Memoirs - ‘Inside the Third Reich’, which initiated a deeper interest and readings on all aspects of that era and the war. And in the last few years so many instances have forced its recall. Too many Commonalities in today’s world.
Why am I not surprised! Centuries of suppression in all areas - including art - have led to centuries of ingrained social norms. It is no wonder women are still fighting for gender equity today. Especially in this global moment.

Sadly, this happens too often, even the Caribbean. Once, my group stopped at a Great House in Virginia, it was ordinary, but the slave quarters & torture apparatus was open but not promoted. I went not to view, but to bear witness, being of mixed heritage.
