This is ONE of the reasons why Vought did all of those things. Multiple purposes, tragically aligned...
Occasionally as an editor you get something different and fun. This is both - with a nice write up in NY Times. www.nytimes.com/2026/04/13/s...
Science is good. We should fund it.
Amazon reportedly failed to create any new jobs at its HQ2 in Virginia last year, despite millions of state tax incentives.
The company has cut 30,000 jobs since last October — while saving $4 billion in taxes under Trump's Big Ugly Bill.
Trickle-down economics is a hoax.
Is this legal? Would the very Catholic SCOTUS think it's legal?
BREAKING: In response to huge cuts in Trump's budget request, NSF is shuttering its SBE directorate. Staff will be transferred to other parts of the agency and "grants that align with Administration priorities" will be maintained.
That & more w/ @maxkozlov.bsky.social & @edwrdchen.bsky.social
This is disgusting.
I am shocked to see this language from the NSF.
“The U.S. National Science Foundation's Fiscal Year 2027 Budget Request reflects a strategic alignment of resources in a constrained fiscal environment while eliminating woke and weaponized grant programs that previously funded radical DEI projects.”
I am so very excited to share the first data paper from my new lab, online now!

Female Common Earwigs Forficula auricularia are very good mothers. After spending the winter guarding her batch of eggs she cares for the nymphs for several weeks and regurgitates food for them. The nymphs will disperse when they are large enough to fend for themselves. Dartmoor, Devon

Excited to share a new paper written by a AAAS Policy Fellow I mentor, Dr. Lisa Walsh.
“This review synthesizes literature on fieldwork safety across scientific disciplines, highlighting four facets of safety for leaders and researchers to address: physical, social, financial, and psychological.”
I don’t think people understand what’s this means: MEDICARE AND MEDICAID ARE BLOCKING ALL WHEELCHAIRS, WALKERS, CANES, INSULIN PUMPS, GLUCOSE MONITORS, CPAP MACHINES, NEBULIZERS, BEDS, CRUTCHES, COMODE CHAIRS, BED SORE PRESSURE PADS, CHAIR LIFTS, OXYGEN TANKS, BREATHING EQUIPMENT, to name a few.
Nothing beats submitting a manuscript you really like for review. Well, maybe getting past reviewer 3. Bit feels good regardless.

Remember, when news outlets first reported that Kash Patel was spending $75,000 of taxpayer money to fly an FBI Gulfstream jet to Milan so he could watch Olympic hockey, the official spokesasshole for the FBI had this to say:
Why the FUCK is the director of the FUCKING FBI using YOUR TAXES to FLY TO ITALY so he can party with pro hockey players?!? In WHAT FUCKING UNIVERSE is this ok?!
Stoked about the new Replication Studies section in Behavioral Ecology? Me too!
Jeremy Fox over at Dynamic Ecology interviewed me about our recent commentary on this topic and I'd love to hear the community's thoughts!
