Pretty decent single, utterly untouchable video.

A plug for my Rain Dogs music.
"Slow Black Crowblack"
A kind of love letter to Dylan Thomas. Mainly me, and a couple of collaborative bits with the usual suspects.

"Variations (i)"
Ian Halstead on fretless, upright, and e-bowed bass. Me on keyboards. Pure noodling and improvising.

Over a quarter of the country are falling for a party and leader, who will destroy the NHS, take away their human right protections, spend around a billion being shitty to asylum seekers new and past.

Because racism.
Nothing will get better, we'll all be worse for it. Fucking morons.

Well let's see how this strategy of telling "white liberals" to "fuck right off" works out in the local elections

Eduardo Porter is Still Wrong About UBI and AI: A Response to The Guardian Universal Basic Income Isn’t a Job Replacement Plan—It’s an AI Dividend and Stable Income Floor That Protects Work, Wages, and Democracy Eduardo Porter’s new Guardian piece is built around a fam...

I wrote this to help people understand that universal basic income is not meant to permanently replace all jobs. It's meant to be a floor below which no one can fall, and a dividend that universally distributes a share of our economy. It's meant to provide the power to say no and freedom to choose.

And rightly so.

I do enjoy creating the covers for our albums very much. The cover image for "An Imprint Upon Time" is a treated selfie of me with my Podenco - Nelson, and my Greyhound - Vinnie, wandering on a bright, cold day up on top of Merthyr Mawr Warren.

Although I'm largely indifferent to The Strokes, I must admit I'm rather impressed by this. Good on them ✊

"My special gift to Tim Cook on the announcement of his retirement is to explain to you all that he is guilty of bribing elected officials. I hope this makes all his pathetic grovelling worthwhile.
Thank you for your attention in this matter."

A screenshot of a post on X (formerly Twitter) by Magyar Péter (Ne féljetek), with the handle @magyarpeterMP. The post reads:
"Until 31 May, the Orbán puppets may voluntarily step down from their positions. This applies to the President of Hungary, the President of the Curia, the President of the National Office for the Judiciary, the President of the Constitutional Court, and the Prosecutor General.
On 12 April, the Hungarian people voted for a complete political transformation.
If these officials do not step down voluntarily by 31 May, then — on the basis of the mandate received from millions of Hungarians — we will remove them from office."
At the bottom, the timestamp reads "3:04 AM • Apr 21, 2026" alongside "19.9K Views".

Peter Magyar is not playing around at all. He's going to purge every single remnant of corrupt Orbanism. This is exactly how Dems need to be when they retake power.

Reform UK Ltd and its supporters are basically some kind of perpetual-motion machine for generating hate.

Excellent article on WSBK, and WCR. There's not enough being written properly about the WCR series so this was a joy to read.

Parade by Prince.

Parade by Prince.

So much beauty and brilliance came before and after, but Parade was my gateway drug. It absolutely blew me away as a 12-year old, and it is still my very favourite Prince album.

Reform to tell Welsh museums how to present history, manifesto says Election pledges say Reform would ask museums to present history chronologically.

I generally try to keep out of politics on here. God knows there is enough everywhere else, but this threat to the independence of Cymric museums needs to have a light shone on it 👇

My personal (uninformed) opinion is that it was Trump’s and that this was one of Starmer’s initial moves to try and ingratiate himself with Trump and his regime.
Completely pointless, and eventually - as with anything Trump related - a complete catastrophe.

It's 10 years today since Prince died.
So a reminder of this, that happened on the other place, because sometimes sadness can still bring laughter.

Resolution has applied my model to data up to 2025. As the chart shows, we can be less confident as time goes on. But firm-level evidence from Bloom et al shows a 6% loss. I think it's time to retire the OBR's 4%, which was a simple average of pre-Brexit forecasts.

"Your Account is Suspended" Message on X

The CEO of Palantir posted a fascist manifesto on X.

I pointed out that it was fascist—which resulted in a permanent suspension from X (my second time!).

So, when you hear the tweeters complaining that BlueSky is intolerant, remember why many of us came here in the first place.

His nicknames were "the Prince of Darkness" and "the Dark Lord".

He was repeatedly sacked from government for lying.

His connections to Epstein and Russia were widely reported for years.

Yet Starmer still trying to claim he was somehow kept in the dark about Mandelson being a wrongun. Come on
