It’s looking good for YES in VA, over 50% now with most outstanding votes in Fairfax County. (We post slow, y’all. Our USBs have traffic to get through!)
Plus, the only way we get to a future where everyone has fair districts is to not leave Republicans in charge, or to at least make sure that both sides are mad enough to do something about it.
Voted yes on the Virginia redistricting referendum today. As I explained it to my 8yo, if I have to choose between having representation that’s more fair for the whole country vs. more fair for VA, I choose the whole country.
I usually hate spoilers, but glad the internet gave me a heads up on The Pitt finale. Had to take a few pauses but made it through.
Is there something going on that three separate services/sites that I use have all updated their ToS today?
The SS Baltic
At 1.57pm, another warning, this time from another White Star ship, the SS Baltic, is received. This message warned that the Greek steamer Athenai had reported passing icebergs and large quantities of field ice just slightly north of the #Titanic's track.
Ok #MSNOW, I like Maya Angelou and all, but i have heard “We are more alike my friends” at least 500 times and you are really not reading the room.
Welcome back to our Artemis II emotional support astronauts! ❤️
Comm check after blackout yay!
You would think that they could have an updated visualization showing that the CSM is not there now?
Great shots of the service module jettison #ArtemisII
Watching the Artemis II return with one kid and my Moon and Earth stuffies.
NASA isn't why the US doesn't have universal healthcare, or a social safety net. The US doesn't have those things because politicians with the power to provide them choose specifically not to (with varying levels of support from voters). Enthusiasm for human spaceflight doesn't drive that choice.
The Integrity spacecraft just entered the lunar gravitational sphere of influence, at 0438 UTC Apr 6. Wiseman, Glover, Koch and Hansen are now the 25th to 28th humans to have left terrestrial space.
Uh, @titanic1912.bsky.social . Not sure how I did that.
I miss the old real-time Titanic feed at the other place, so let’s see how @titanic 1912.bsky.social holds up!
BREAKING The four Artemis astronauts have fired up their spacecraft's engine to break away from Earth orbit and zoom towards the Moon, a milestone that commits NASA to the first crewed lunar flyby in more than half-a-century
Did the uncrewed Orion capsule not have a toilet onboard?
Thought maybe a cover or shield for something? Perspective is tricky but it looked pretty big.
Curious what the big chunk was that flew off the tower at launch?
Go rocket go!
It’s pretty notable to me that the NASA feed talks about how the conquered the Wild West, and has a jingoistic tint they wouldn’t have done in the past. #Artemis
Good luck and safe flight to NASA’s Artemis II!
Happy ThinkGeek Remembrance Day to all who celebrate.
It's Trans Day of Visibility today. If you're trans and are raising money for something (I don't care what it is), reply to this thread and I will boost you.
If you are a cis person, take a look and find someone to support if you can.
Everyone give this a share after.
13. American children developed English accents & adopted phrases like "mummy", "on holiday", "telly", & "ready, steady, go" due to lockdown-era bingeing of what animated series, headlined by a good-hearted 4-year-old who loves jumping in muddy puddles?

Well, the tech doing my mammogram said something in the wrong rhythm so now I have the Cha-Cha Slide stuck in my head.
