They sure can but as long as you move super slow os stand still they will tolerate you being quite close. This is in our downtown which the river runs through. They get a pretty wide berth from most folks!

It was one of our best days in Scandanavia! We spent a whole day there and could have easily come back for another. There is also a Vikingshiphuset right there with the most intact Viking burial ships ever excavated!

I saw this in a stadium with surround sound. Those money/cash register sounds came from everywhere. My buddies spent a whole day dragging speakers up the bleachers. Lol. And the whole night after the show dragging them back down. In the rain.

And as a bonus my trails and alleys approach very seldom leads to me breathing fumes in idling traffic. Even more reason for separate bike lanes.

I’m about 3 km from home before cars leaving my place at the same time catch up to me. I can use shared paths and alleys to shortcut across a couple of parks and empty lots. They wait for a couple/ few sets of lights and navigate a couple busy 4 way stops.

I put my bike/car expense up against any car/gym expense and factor in health benefits and environmental impacts as well as overall sanity from being outside often. There’s no comparison.

The only Northern Lights I ever grew was very good to me!
