They’re saying that a trans person who lives in Kansas and came from out of state with a updated birth certificate would be forced by Kansas to have a mismatch between birth certificate and license making them totally unable to vote.

Kansas is hateful enough they would amend the law to make the state for pay the new licenses. They are one of only like two states that invested funds in making lists of trans people to revert.

That’s why they’re talking about “whether they were sent a notice or not” some people are coming in and having it updated to AGAB without any notice being sent to them out of fear.

There are definitely more than 300 trans people in Kansas, the department is likely unable to actually track all gender changes in Kansas history and only went back a few years plus there are trans people who came from other states with already changed documents so they are also undetectable

Either Hochul approves an income tax, or Mamdani has to do what any other mayor would do. Either slash funding to major services or increase local property taxes. Cuomo could be in charge and it would be the same thing except he’d prob do the former and we all know he wouldn’t be cutting police.

Also a wealth tax isn’t the rest of the state giving NYC money. Again that’s not just how reality is. The reality is NYC funds the rest of state with income taxes as most NYS wealth is concentrated in NYC. A two percent income tax is basically just a a tax on rich people in NYC.

He promised to do try to do things. He’s not a dictator, he can’t just unilaterally do anything. If you didn’t understand how electoral politics works that’s…your fault.

Hochul should get blame. It doesn’t matter what promises she made. At the end of the day NYC has a budget hole left by Adams.

It’s the only thing he can do to fix the budget black hole Adams left unless Hochul approves a 2 percent income tax which she is not.
