hmmm. the rats of nimh, though i think we're getting a little niche at that point. mr. ratburn, from arthur. roddy from flushed away. i think that's my maximum number of rats i can think of

first that comes to mind is cluny the scourge. do they have to be Rats or do mice count too? because i can think of more famous fictional mice (geronimo stilton, matthias the warrior, the mice from cinderella, stuart little) vs rats

I checked on it later and they had bumped the number of copies to 36 because of all the love it got today. Can’t wait to get to read it. I made my way through most of your books this spring, but have a couple left to tide me over in the meantime!

Screenshot of a hold placed on T. Kingfisher’s “Hemlock & Silver” audiobook from the Libby app. It states that the user will have about 17 weeks wait, is 166th in line, and that there are 20 copies in use. It also states that 8 people are waiting per copy.

Put a hold on the Hemlock and Silver audiobook by @tkingfisher.com this morning and was already number 166 in line. So happy to see it getting so much love from the library and can’t wait to get my hands on it! (My other library also added copies later in the morning!)

this is not typically a feature of my home i'm grateful for, as it makes it very hard to hang things up, but like... it would be very difficult to accidentally knock a hole to another dimension through my walls, and i think that's a good thing

i'm listening to t. kingfisher's The Hollow Places right now and it's just making me really grateful that my home has lath and plaster walls that are rock solid and not typical american wallboard walls that can be cut through with a pocket knife

TBH most people like that who I know would just want a card (don’t want stuff to deal with) or flowers!

Yeah I got it to load enough to get my quests at 8 am and all attempts to get in after that failed 🙄 (even though it only took like 3 minutes to do all my quests)

tried literally 50+ refreshes across the morning and couldn’t get it to load to redeem my quests 🫠

my friends from the Midwest: look this picture of our gorgeous landscape
me, having grown up and always lived in mountainous western Washington: no. I don't like how you can see to the end of it
friends: ...the end of what
me, pointing at the horizon uneasily: it

just going about your life on an objectively pretty decent day and feeling like the world is ending around you is like... not ideal

I took a photo of the Walkie-Talkie from a boat in London a few weeks ago (to send to my friends to make fun of it, of course) and was genuinely astounded by just how brown the Thames water was in that photo

If you want recs, the podcast Nothing Much Happens might be good as a transition from light and noise to pitch black silence. I used to do audiobooks, but they started stressing me out, so I swapped to NMH, and it knocks me out in like, 5 minutes or less and is fairly unobtrusive.

95% of the time i'm happy with my life and my choices and how i am and then the other 5% i'm so emo about being where i am on the aro/ace spectrums and it kinda sucks bc i want to be positive but also...... sometimes it sucks! it just does!

yeah like i keep him out of gardens etc except to sniff from the sidewalk, but a stretch of empty grass should be fair game!! these are the unwritten rules of the sidewalk, imo

once got yelled at for letting my dog sniff grass on the parking strip (city owned) outside someone’s house. like omg please, we live in a society and this is not even your grass 😭

I love when apps give you the option to turn streaks off altogether. I’m not quite ready to let go of my 3k+ one… but we’re approaching that point. It’s been like 10 years 😂

I’m being held hostage by a 3000+ day streak on Flow Free Bridges that I’ve been maintaining since freshman year of college 🥴 it gives me anxiety to think of breaking it but also it would be a sense of freedom

then again i did just put off a podiatry appointment in my own state for five months because my insurance never approved the original referral so also it is absurd that i can’t even get coverage Here, sometimes (with a plan that has treated me Very Well overall)

11 months ago 0 0 0 0

like when i was on the east coast for college, my plan was basically like “if something happens you just have to fly home to deal with it, you can’t get coverage in your college state”

11 months ago 0 0 1 0

there are many absurd realities of being an american but one i can never quite wrap my head around is that health insurance is state-based and care isn’t covered in other states (depends on your plan etc but this is broadly true of many plans)
