Una brasa encendida
arde en mi, en ti, en todo
y esas mismas estrellas
que hasta aquí me han guiado
son las que se complacen
en su pulso de luz
Siendo un solo ser

Agreed! I lack the discipline to routinely achieve good effects with flexible nibs, and a wide nib (1.1 italic, broad oblique, whatever) gives me nice line variation and a smooth, grippy feel on the page.
Close…it’s 60% sanding, 20% jig-making, 15% spending money on new tools and 4% cursing/ misplacing your tape measure. The remaining 1% is a reeeeaaall fine dice of adhd-infused moments of competency.

Cure: _The Shadow King_ by Maaza Mengiste. She writes all her rough drafts with a fountain pen.
She may have used a stubby/ architect/ italic nib. I use an italic nib since I like a little line variation, but lack the discipline to attempt calligraphy.

What kind is it?

Shop organization? I lack this gene. I have 1,500 sqft of slovenly, albeit keenly sharpened, mess.
The staves are white oak. The substrates are oak plywood for the cabinet, and Medex for the shower wall.
A shower surround made with a bunch of black-lacquered oak staves.
And a shower surround behind the vanity.
There’s four doors on the front of this, operated by touch-latches.
A bunch on dadoes cut into some plywood

Go to a pen show! They’re a much more diverse gathering of people than they used to be.
Marjoram. I love this stuff.
He’s such a talented craftsman.

I have these and many others at my table. I’d say “look for the bald guy,” but that’s a pretty broad brush at this event.

Here’s a moody shot of a fantastic-looking pen: the Pilot MYU, from the first year they were made, 1971.
