PhD finally conferred! It's over!!!!
Spent the better part of my twenties studying while juggling part-time research work. Nice to finally be able to relax.
Excited to move on to my next phase of life 😀 But first, Eternal Weekend @ Yokohama next week!

We built the openESM database:
▶️60 openly available experience sampling datasets (16K+ participants, 740K+ obs.) in one place
▶️Harmonized (meta-)data, fully open-source software
▶️Filter & search all data, simply download via R/Python

Defended my dissertation yesterday so I guess I’m (unofficially) Dr Leong now 😭
I recorded a step-by-step tutorial of programming experiments in PsychoPy for undergrad thesis students in my lab. Sharing it here for anyone new to programming in psychology, or those transitioning to PsychoPy from other software. www.youtube.com/watch?v=CMJX...

Working on getting my storm deck fully signed 😌
Lost a trophy match because I got too excited do THE THING (brainstorming back my gaea’s will to go for a beseech -> will line) and forgot there was a leyline on board 😭😭😭
Today we learn that it is not a good idea to play The Epic Storm at 2am after a beer or two 😭😭😭😭
Life has been great lately with this doofus.
😫 maybe next time you are back! Enjoy the food!
Was looking forward to meeting you at Sacha’s lab meeting but I’ll be flying off on that day. Unfortunate!
I like this paper: not only does it review of all the reasons standardized coefficients are bad, actually,
It also then goes on to show how test statistics can be used as measures of unique contribution/ effect size! - something that just sounds so so wrong!

Critics: "We think your research is flawed because of those reasons that were reviewed by other scientists who shared our concerns"
Authors: "Thank your for your incompetent criticism. Our full rebuttal is: no"
Journals: "Science was achieved today through scholarly debate. Please move along"
Had lots of fun making some of the visuals for this :-)

Our review of JITAIs and how they can advance public health is now formally published in the Annual Review of Public Health!

Uhhh have journals ever requested for a copy of your IRB protocol and informed consent form??? I’m curious if this is the norm.
tfw you echo of eons 4 times against a DnT player game 1 only to fizzle 4 times. Something variance something something…
truly a casino storm deck
This wasn’t like 30 self-citations by the way.
It was 12. 2 were R packages, 5 were studies that my paper built on. The rest were methodological papers that my co-author was part of.
What rubbish is this? Truly an exercise in futility.
How to not self-cite our work if our current study is rests on my co-authors’ theoretical and methodological work? Should I not give them credit for their work?
Rather than let me cite relevant work, asks me to cite the preprint and dataset. Which adds to the self-cite count
Journals add value to our scientific work MY ASS. So many wasted hours dealing with this rubbish.
So afraid of signalling QRPs to their readers yet too blockheaded to understand that we are not citing willy-nilly.
Our latest preprint is up! Two down, one more to go.
Couldn't have done this without the help and guidance from @sachaepskamp.bsky.social, Dr Hani, and my advisor Prof Ryan :-)
new dog, new home, nice coast
First RL card! Legacy is fun
📝New paper out: We conducted a meta-analysis about the efficacy of cognitive behavioral therapy on rumination, worry and repetitive negative thinking. The paper is published open access in psychological medicine. doi.org/10.1017/S003...
Incredibly moving Justin Trudeau remarks:
"We have fought and died alongside you....During your darkest hours...we were always there. Standing with you, grieving with you, the American people....Canadians are a little perplexed as to why our closest friends and neighbors are choosing to target us."
Does any one know of a paper that describes the citation count distribution of papers in social psychology? Preferably a recent paper.
Can't seem to find one specific to social psychology :-(
@giladfeldman.bsky.social
Are psychometric networks sufficiently supported by data such that one can be confident when interpreting its results? We analysed 294 psychometric networks from 126 papers with the Bayesian approach to address this question @jmbh.bsky.social Sara Ruth van Holst @maartenmarsman.bsky.social 🧵
Just a reminder that you can change your handle to your github.io repo!
Legacy is so much more fun than modern holy hell!!!!
Goodbye living end hello oops all spells
