PhD finally conferred! It's over!!!!

Spent the better part of my twenties studying while juggling part-time research work. Nice to finally be able to relax.

Excited to move on to my next phase of life 😀 But first, Eternal Weekend @ Yokohama next week!

Was looking forward to meeting you at Sacha’s lab meeting but I’ll be flying off on that day. Unfortunate!

I like this paper: not only does it review of all the reasons standardized coefficients are bad, actually,

It also then goes on to show how test statistics can be used as measures of unique contribution/ effect size! - something that just sounds so so wrong!

Uhhh have journals ever requested for a copy of your IRB protocol and informed consent form??? I’m curious if this is the norm.

This wasn’t like 30 self-citations by the way.

It was 12. 2 were R packages, 5 were studies that my paper built on. The rest were methodological papers that my co-author was part of.

What rubbish is this? Truly an exercise in futility.

How to not self-cite our work if our current study is rests on my co-authors’ theoretical and methodological work? Should I not give them credit for their work?

Rather than let me cite relevant work, asks me to cite the preprint and dataset. Which adds to the self-cite count

Journals add value to our scientific work MY ASS. So many wasted hours dealing with this rubbish.

So afraid of signalling QRPs to their readers yet too blockheaded to understand that we are not citing willy-nilly.

Our latest preprint is up! Two down, one more to go.

Couldn't have done this without the help and guidance from @sachaepskamp.bsky.social, Dr Hani, and my advisor Prof Ryan :-)

Incredibly moving Justin Trudeau remarks:

"We have fought and died alongside you....During your darkest hours...we were always there. Standing with you, grieving with you, the American people....Canadians are a little perplexed as to why our closest friends and neighbors are choosing to target us."

Does any one know of a paper that describes the citation count distribution of papers in social psychology? Preferably a recent paper.

Can't seem to find one specific to social psychology :-(
