I'm currently at the "it's not a problem if you don't look up" stage of Jyn Erso's rebellion journey and will be for the next two weeks; mostly because the snooker is now on.

Over on TikTok, the dementia experts have given Trump no more than a week before he snuffs it. And they say hope is dead.

Know the work rules comic.

Panel 1: Appropriate

Lee Anderson appears at an office cubicle and says “Keir Starmer is a liar” to Lindsay Hoyle, who smiles and says “Awww, you’re sweet.”

Panel 2: Inappropriate

Zarah Sultana appears at an office cubicle and says “Keir Starmer is a liar” to Lindsay Hoyle, who gets on the phone, angrily yelling “HELLO, HUMAN RESOURCES?!”

Dancing is overtly political because it is when the bodies that are regulated, surveilled, or violenty policed declare joy & solidarity in social and public situations where conformity is explictly demanded. It creates affective atmospheres of excess that cannot be easily coopted nor controlled.

Akira is in UK cinemas now which is great, as it's an amazing film. But did you know that to make it, they had to 'invent' 50 new colours? Amazing.

(finding this out has taken me down a very interesting rabbit hole about 'new' colours, sensory perception, and ocular biology...)

Josh Rogin: “Somebody shorted the oil market today by hundreds of millions of dollars exactly 20 minutes before Trump made his announcement—

If you see that once, it could be a coincidence. But that's happened at least three times, if not more, since the war began — that's a pattern”

Walking the dog early on a Sunday is great because I can walk down the middle of a what is normally a very busy road with no one around, and pretend I’m in a post-apocalyptic zombie film.

Listening to Ally McCoist and Darren Fletcher commentate on TNT football is like enduring two pissed old Reform types ranting in the pub about the ‘good old days’. They’ve no decent insight, yet plenty of references to things that happened a long time before the majority of the audience were born.

Text from red pepper magazine which reads:
Postcapitalist Cities:
Towards a Common Urban
Future
Oli Mould
Manchester University Press
Fundamental to any blueprint for revolutionary change is knowing
what type of alternative we want. Oli Mould does just this.
Drawing upon history,
making use of contemporary case studies,
Mould illustrates
how our urban spaces are shaped by the needs of capitalism but
also embody the foundations of a post-capitalist future.

So I've spent this morning going through some of the 500 or so papers that have cited my #TacticalUrbanism paper - which is a *critique* of the term - and well over half of them have failed to acknowledge that. They've obviously just seen the title and assumed I was acknowledging it's benefits.

This is what happens when the beautiful game is transmogrified into a corporate vassel for corporate greed sold to the highest bidder, and that bidder this time round just happens to be the heartland of late stage capitalism that has been given the greenlight by its leader to grift harder than ever.
