This "incredibly dark reality" is indeed far worse than I had expected. Completely separate from reasonable debates about aid effectiveness, the immediate halting of aid can only be explained by immense cruelty.

@nytimes.com finally giving Trump's illegal and unconstitutional assault on agencies above the fold coverage, but not using the words "illegal" or "unconstitutional" - either in the headline, or story.
Great factual reporting that leaves out the biggest facts.

Lots of excellent work establishes a link between womenโ€™s labor force participation and political behavior. These studies mostly focus on women working in the formal economy in wealthier countries but the vast majority of employed women in poorer countries in the informal economy.
