The image shown is a district regional map of Virgina, Color coded blue and orange to represent the majority of select districts voting in a special election to perform a temporary congressional redrawing. Orange represents districts that voted in the majority "Yes" while Blue represents districts that voted in the majority "No." The results show that "Yes" won the majority vote, 51.3% to "No" at 48.7% giving Virginia the greenlight to redraw the congressional maps with the intent to Gerrymander the state, allowing more Democratic seats possible to be won come the midterm elections in November. The redrawing for Virginia comes as a measure against prior Republican state redrawing that has occurred earlier this year, Texas being among the most significant.
And with that I can breathe easy. I am beyond glad that my home state is, in the majority, on the right track and mindset.
However, i don't like how I've had to feel that tense over the results, come on Virginia, we can do better.
