I hope everyone is having a wonderful Monday and your week is full of joy and happiness.

If anyone wants to talk game design, ask me about Dragonwolf Games, or learn more about Kit, Lily, or Mimi, here is my new Discord link. discord.gg/qPHVZ8hQ
I may share some details about Smile Run or even future titles that I have planned. We may also have Smile Run parties and events.
I have been working on a new character. This will be the NPC you deliver the gifts to in gift delivery mode. As of right now, any NPCs will just be background characters.
I should hopefully have him ready today. I felt that the story of the game is not represented well.
That feeling when you take your game out and someone recommends split screen multiplayer. Then you decide that it would not be a bad idea.
Happy #WishlistWednesday everyone. How about a fun level based endless runner with fun characters? Wishlist now on Steam. Comments at play tests include "Simple concept and really fun to play"

Yay!! A dense forest that is not destroying draining the FPS. Still not sure if this will work on mobile, but I can work on that after the PC release.

Looks great. I love the happy little art style.
An interesting concept. Something to keep an eye on.
The gift is now sitting on the counter to let players know where the gift came from. It also explains the purpose of the Smile Cafe. The menu selection will be changed so that the player is highlighting either the gift or the ice cream machine to pick game mode (with appropriate text).
That should keep people out of restricted areas. It was the fence or just have a lot of trees so densely packed that you can't walk through them. This is easier on the hardware.
This computer was used for some minor streaming back in the day (never got any followers playing Zelda Randomizer). I was thinking that now the computer is revived, I could make a Dragonwolf Games Twitch and playtest other devs games on stream.
The forest environment is easier to work on as well. It is just a flat plane with obstacles. I am shifting to just making more obstacles for the forest.
Sky can be introduced later in the game. Just like water.
I have spent so long trying to make the sky environment easier for the first couple of levels of Smile Run just because I saw non-gamer friends fail in 7 seconds. I was going about it wrong. The charm of the sky was to jump from platform to platform. I should just move the forest to level 1.
Smile Run was just tested on a 10 year old computer. It runs fine, so I am not worried about performance as much as I was.
Hi cat
4X speed is fine. Nothing wrong here. There is a chance that I leave in 4X speed as an option you would have to turn on. I know some people would love it even if some elements may not be clearable at that speed.
Smile Run will now get faster the longer you play. I felt that the game looked slow, so I decided to speed it up. This of course causes challenges for me, but I had a lot of fun testing 2X and 4X speeds. 4X was a little too fast, but it sure was silly.
The only issue is that my laptop does not last too long on battery these days.
I wonder if just taking my laptop outside on nice evenings to see if people would want to try Smile Run is something that would be productive.
I was thinking of using my Discord server to host playtest parties. A place where developers can either stream games for people to give feedback, or if the game demo is publicly available on Steam, people can play while the dev watches. I say "on Steam" to help avoid questionable downloads.
I am going to spend some time this week working on making my textures a little more professional looking. I love the overall cartoony look of Smile Run, but most of the textures are just a single color assigned to the faces. I really want to fix the ground the most.
I hope everyone has an amazing week.
The Smile Run Steam page is now up. There will be a new gameplay trailer showing all 4 environments by the end of the week. Check it out and add it to your wishlist.

Something I have not talked a lot about is an unlockable "Dance Mode" in Smile Run. Something silly I had planned from the start. It's sort of a secret so I will not say too much.
Good game designer: Oh no. This is not how I wanted the feature to act. This bug is so silly. Glad I am the only one who say it.
Great game designer: Oh no. This bug is so silly. Can I implement it into the game for some silly comedy somewhere?
Obviously, there are lots of factors in play.
Had a great little stream on Discord earlier. Lots of chatting while doing design work.
Fox is in the Galaxy movie. The movie that will probably be on streaming around July. Nintendo is rumored to be releasing a new Star Fox this summer. It's like it was planned.
I am streaming some design right now. Building the first couple of levels and play testing on stream here.
Something I had planned to be added to Smile Run was the "Smile Arcade". This will be a place where demos or small arcade games can be played.
