In this episode, journalist and producer Julius Purcell explores the remarkable return of #wolves to #Germany after 150 years of extirpation. Hear how Germany is learning to coexist with these iconic predators, the challenges that remain, and why the success of the wolf’s comeback is so significant.
Thank you!

My dad and Pat Highsmith were good friends in 1953 inTrieste where he was head of security in the postwar mess btwn Italy and Yugoslavia and McCarthy.
She liked him. Maybe for his knowledge on silent killing and small boats. And of corse his Irish charisma.
Finally! This is an historic win for all those who have spent decades trying to get the govt to act.
Non-compliance is expected to be high so effective monitoring & robust enforcement must follow.

Met them at dinner in the early days of their odyssey. They’d just been GIVEN a house with 18 acres of land! I remember her faux naive all-in-a-daze response to their good fortune. Conversation was 1-way & hard work. I was asked to interview RW at a literary festival for her second book & declined.
Three weeks to publication day and I couldn't be more thrilled with this quote from the wonderful @keggiec.bsky.social
Can’t wait to chat with brilliant writer, fierce advocate for all the animals and dear friend @keggiec.bsky.social

Revealed: 5,000 English nature sites at risk under Labour’s planning proposals
www.theguardian.com/environment/... This is what the Planning & Infrastructure will mean, if it becomes law. Every single SSSI in England will lose its protected status, as well as non-SSSI sites for protected species.
Our beautiful home of 23 years, Rose Bower, is for sale. The garden, chalk stream and woods are breathtakingly lovely. We hope to pass it on to someone who will love it, & the garden’s inhabitants, as much as we have. Listed with Myddleton & Major Estate Agents myddeltonmajor.co.uk/property/lit...

Don’t wash out your peanut butter jar. Leave it in the bushes for small critters to lick clean. They will love it!
Yes, there’s a winterbourne chalk stream but we never seen mink. Maybe polecat tho. One once ran over my foot. Oh dear, as I type I can hear something dying….
No, not twisted, too squidgy, not fox.

We've got six weeks left to get this petition to ban driven grouse shooting - a sport that has pushed hen harriers and golden eagles to the brink of extinction in these islands - over the line.
