In 1993 German electronic band Kraftwerk used a laptop computer in their live performances.

Does anybody have a guess which model it could be based on this photo?

It can be seen on Fritz Hilpert's workstation, left side of the picture, with a white keyboard.

Mr. Write from Zelda Link's Awakening. He enjoys writing letters to random people but never gets a reply.

Until Link delivers a love letter from Christine to him. The letter includes a picture of Princess Peach. Mr. Write admires her beauty, not knowing that Christine is really a goat from Animal Village.

The sequence is a humorous comment on the uncertainty of long distance relationships.

Christine the Goat from Zelda Link's Awakening. She lives in Animal Village.

She asks Link to deliver a love letter to Mr. Write.

I was randomly thinking of Mr. Write and Christine the Goat from Zelda Link's Awakening.

Mr. Write is based on Dr. Wright from SimCity, who is a cameo of SimCity's creator Will Wright. You probably knew that already.

Surprisingly their tables are coloured differently from each other. I wonder why.

The Traditional Tunes of the Child Ballads by Bertrand Harris Bronson in 4 volumes. A reprint by Loomis House Press and Camsco Music from 2009.

I bought mine from Springthyme Records. The 4 volumes were originally published by Princeton University Press between 1959 and 1972 and remained long out of print.

My ballad books, The Traditional Tunes of the Child Ballads by Bertrand Harris Bronson in 4 volumes.

I love folk songs and ballads in English and Scots. It's my hobby to collect and compare recordings of these old songs.

Sometimes I post about songs I like. I know it's niche, but it's my niche. ๐ŸฆŠ๐ŸŽต

I forgot about Gorgonzola. It makes incredible sauces. ๐Ÿง€

I also have a confession to make. I avoid sheep's or goat's milk cheeses. ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ

Maybe I should give them another chance. ๐ŸฆŠ

Slices of Dutch Gouda Cheese

In my opinion France has the world's best soft cheeses: Brie and Camembert

Switzerland has the world's best hard cheeses: Gruyรจre/Greyerzer and Emmentaler

Just as great are Italian Parmiggiano and Mozzarella, Dutch Gouda, French Comtรฉ and British Cheddar.

I live near France and I love cheese. ๐ŸฆŠ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿง€

Surf, by Spring Spring & VinsCool 14 track album

Here is something pretty cool from myself and @vinscool.bsky.social, I'm proud to present Surf!

Some #progressive but #chill tracker music :3
While only one track is a collab and the rest are by myself alone, I stayed faithful to the style.

Please enjoy if you can, download for free if you want :3

Hayazashi Nidan Morita Shougi 2 circuitboard with the large ST018 chip

Today's Random Game Saturday is a famous one-- Hayazashi Nidan Morita Shougi 2! Why is it so famous? The ST018 chip that runs the shogi logic is actually a full ARM CPU with its own 21MHz oscillator, far more powerful than the S-CPU itself

I'm not good enough at Shogi to tell if it helps, though

As someone who had their life changed by a cycling accident I'm touched by this painting.

A fraction of a second. One moment of bad luck and everything changes.

But life goes on. What doesn't break us only makes us stronger.

There's a killerfox on the loose in Berlin Reinickendorf.
The news says it attacks dogs.

What a story. Especially with Reinickendorf being so close to the archetypal German fox name Reineke, haha.

Note: It wasn't me. ๐ŸฆŠ

A Cat With a Wooden Leg
Pat McGrath possesses a very remarkable feline. His cat was born with only three legs, and as soon as the kitten became large enough to leave its mother, Pat constructed a wooden leg and successfully adjusted it to the little stump that grew out where poor pussyโ€™s fourth leg ought to have been. Pussy now trots along on four legs with as much ease and comfort, apparently, as though the wooden limb had been placed there by Nature. But here is the really wonderful part of the story: Instead of killing rats and mice with her claws, as cats usually do, pussy has learned to use her club leg for this purpose, and it is said to be a very amusing sight to see her run up to a rat and knock him into insensibility with her wooden leg.

It is, allegedly, the 136th anniversary of a news story whose last line I donโ€™t think youโ€™ll be able to predict appearing in the Woodford (Kentucky) Sun

I feel the same, I fell in love with it after seeing it on a stream.

Usually I'm not that big into turn based RPGs, but something about this game made it so much fun. The music and art is so good, I was rooting for the characters, and the fighting never became tedious for me.

Just an amazing game.
