Masayoshi Takanaka And The Great City Pop Awakening | Features | Clash Magazine Music News, Reviews & Interviews If, like me, you’re a chronically online sort that’s allowed the YouTube algorithm to do its thing and take you on an intercontinental musical journey

Here's a big chat I had with Masayoshi Takanaka last month www.clashmusic.com/features/mas...

I'm not, sadly. Clashed with Takanaka in London. Would have loved to have been there.

Big interview locked in for next week. Niche, but absolutely ridiculous. Very, very excited.

Normalise wearing clothes for the weather you want, not the weather you have.

James Blake - Just a Little Higher
James Blake - Just a Little Higher YouTube video by James Blake

New James Blake album is really, really good, but the final track is the one. Vintage Blake. www.youtube.com/watch?v=IcBM...

zero issues with people making fan edits, obviously, but putting together a shonky ass custom blu ray of other people's work and selling them is gross

To his credit, he specifically targeted a Morrissey record on one occasion, which I completely respect, if not entirely understand.

Are "they" generally quite good at not digging their claws into the record spines on the lower shelves? I once had a feline friend/foe who wrought untold damage on my collection in attempt to get my attention.

Haven't listened to or really checked out Eels for 10+ years and, man, Mark Oliver Everett really just hasn't stopped, has he?

Occupational hazard these days. I wear loops most the time but have to take them out if I want to shout along, which sort of negates the point of having them.

remember when people would sell stuff in the classifieds at the back of local newspapers and they'd call in to sell games and the person transcribing it would mishear it or something, so they'd type it up in an insane way, like: DOMKEY KOMG 64 NIMTEMDO £60 ONO

my favourite thing about being a music fan in the year twenty twenty six is getting email reminders for shows that sold out in seconds days or even weeks after they went on sale

Hated them enough already. Absolutely despise them after this.

Inside Abbey Road’s very first rave How Soulwax transformed music’s most hallowed recording space into a high-concept lab – and premiered new music to 300 ravers

I was at Abbey Road last Friday chatting to Soulwax about new music they were recording there. 24 hours later I watched them drop it on wax in Studio One to a crowd of 300 ravers. A surreal, wonderful experience.
