I agree but trying to convince others is an uphill battle.

Well, on Tuesday we had a martin and I've just seen my first swallow so it took a few days but they're here!
I used to work with a guy in Cheltenham who was related to the Vick family of Tetbury. Can't for the life of me remember which one. It was a while ago that I worked with him.
I always loved research (aka finding things out) & eventually became a researcher off the back of creating a website based on the OH's home town (of several centuries). This website also led to being a published author. I've just got the site back online lynne-cleaver.websitex5.me/tetbury.html
really...that's so encouraging to hear. I shall look forward to them progressing up country to West Somerset in a few days time.
we too have hundreds (including white and pink) which cover the beds as the perennials begin to emerge. I leave them but unlike other plants don't 'rescue' if I inadvertently dig them out. I did make a mistake in transplanting just one wild garlic bulb though.... that went badly wrong!
I was as ever delighted with my payment, always more than the royalties. What made it extra special was a thank you from a friend who I pointed in your direction as she had had her first payment. Bit overwhelmed with it I think. Thank you for all you have done and continue to do.
The sound of a spring early evening #dove #sparrow #blackbird #blackcap #robin #greattit #bluetit #goldfinch #pigeon and a #crow. Such beauty in bird song
Back in 1965 we went to see the Gardeners Club being filmed in Birmingham. That's my head, with my brother and my Grandpa's pipe (he was attached somewhere out of photo!). I believe this programme is now known as #GardenersWorld and the new series begins tonight. Yay! Let's hope the weather is aware
Our daughter is only getting one delivery a week. Absolutely appalling isn't it.
I'd forgotten that I bought these gorgeous miniature #daffodils in the autumn. Two are in flower and the rest to come. Spring is trying to burst out all over, even the #acer has leaves out. Really, it does, way too early.
I've just finished this book and thoroughly enjoyed it. Especially as I have been doing some research for a former client who believes they may be connected to the Gilbert/Raleigh line. Could be like looking for a needle in a haystack! #AWomanofNobleWit
No, not framed but I do have a printer's tray that I use for little treasures, so whilst too big for that it could be displayed in some way along side it. Good idea. Now, where did I put it... we've since had all the plaster removed from a room & 2 coats into re lime plastering #chaos
Our cottage is currently undergoing maintenance renovation & under the bedroom floor 2 scrunched bits of paper placed together make 2/3 of an invitation. The named person lived here from 1847, possibly earlier. #OldCleeve #Somerset Invite to an event in #Bristol
Yes, I've had that but it was on the ancestry trees so thought it may not affect me too much. Clearly it will. Bah humbug. And my sub has just renewed so I can't vote with my sub fee. However, I have heard that a text search of the site is rolling out.
ah, thankyou, just been looking and thought I had missed some instruction. Good to know so I don't waste more time searching!!
#strictly #bigbrother #loveisland etc. We do watch Traitors and love it but don't watch or need any of the media hype on that or any other programme. Or sport. Especially sport.
it' taken me a few days to get used to it. They've added in extra steps which is always a negative. Good job Ancestry don't have the data otherwise it would be totally unusable!
If you've ever wanted to own an #armorial here's your chance...www.the-saleroom.com/en-gb/auction-catalogues...
I noticed muscari (grape hyacinth) beginning to flower this morning and the pulmonaria were out just before Christmas. Haven't been brave enough to try the new garden tools yet (mainly seem to be to do with weeding... a gift from the OH)
I believe that the butler broke his leg. I used to live in Brompton, just by the old forge. I didn't really appreciate the history at that time, although I did do an A'level project on the village.
and in Wales?? I don't envy you that one. I've just been working through my OH's Smiths but they don't seem to have intermarried...yet!
we tend to get given 'experiences' rather than things so the book haul was very good. Only have our children and their families so quite small cache to receive from.
and I thought my haul of 4 was good going! Including one by @janetfew.bsky.social and one by @ragriggsauthor.bsky.social My shrinking bedside book tower has grown again!
I hope it wasn't a Smith...just putting it out there...
We have got cross buns all year round! The OH likes them and buys them!
I subscribe to a feed @skyfeed.xyz which filters out all but those you are following. I suspect that isn't what you are after though, more of a blocking thing? You may find that the above does just as well. I occasionally pop over to the discover and following but soon zip back again!
yes, just tried again after a gap of a few hours and seamlessly worked!
Sounds like there's an issue but at least you got further on than me. #Opera browser won't even let me access the site for security!
Is anyone else having issues getting onto the #GRO official site? My browser doesn't want to let me connect which is frustrating...
