After days of patiently waiting, Guac got his very own private paddle board adventure this morning!

Remi went to the eye doctor and his glaucoma is now well-controlled with all his new medicine. He was very brave and we are happy his peepers are going to keep peeping (pain free!)

If you have a little extra you give it, and if you need a little extra you get it. A Little Extra, Inc was started by two friends, Jen Coleslaw and Dr. Kent Smith. They met over 10 years ago when he was a vet at the emergency pet hospital and Jen came in with a pet with an emergency. They became fast friends and in 2022, Kent opened his own beautiful vet hospital--Willow Animal Hospital, with Jen right there with him, helping out, running social media and doing some marketing and being his #1 cheerleader and sounding board. Kent died suddenly in June, 2024 and we are all still reeling from that loss. But we continue to support vet hospitals, and rescues that Kent loved, and will raise money for pets that need A Little Extra. A Little Extra, Inc is a kind of revolving fund that takes in money from fundraising and small donations and sends it back out in the form of medical grants for pets who need a little extra to cover the cost of their healthcare and donations to rescues taking in broken and sick animals. It also helps cover the cost of lifesaving surgeries for strays brought to vets and animal hospitals by good samaritans. Kent would have been 53 on September 16th. Let's raise $5300 in his memory

Today is International Dog Day and Rufus and Waffles put a list of ways you can celebrate. We're going to try to raise $5300 to honor Kent's 53rd birthday this late summer and fall to help pets and their people (and shelters and rescues) this winter with unexpected vet bills.
