I've often wondered what life was like on Tristan da Cunha (formerly known as Saint Helena)

Thank you! That's why I wrote them
Most CISSP most books were bloated and awful when I studied for my exam. I decided to write books that were concise and easy to understand
I've heard from (and met) people from all over the world who told me that my books helped them pass that bizarre exam
B
Now anyone can use LLMs to generate a CISSP book plagiarized from me and many others, and sell that stolen slop on Amazon for a few dollars. Repeat that example for thousands of other topics
I never made a ton of money on my books, but they were well-written (IMO). I was proud of them

Anthropic also stole and trained their LLM using my CISSP books, so I submitted my claim last week. I will get a pittance from the unethical thieves that stole them
Last year Syngress asked me update the CISSP Study Guide (to v5): I said no. Because some asshole will steal that too

I've napped for maybe 2 hours over the past 30+ and am somehow wide awake
We saw Cirque du Soleil Auana in Waikiki tonight. We've seen 10+ Cirque shows, and this was one of our all-time favorites. Death-defying acrobatics, live Hawaiian music: totally amazing

Screenshot that says: AA 7370 — SYD → HNL ARRIVED LATE Flight Duration: 9h 48m Sydney (SYD) Honolulu (HNL) Date Sun, Mar 29 - Sun, Mar 29 Scheduled 8:15 PM 8:55 AM Actual10:19 PM 11:07 AM
Enjoyed a 45 hour Sunday due to the magic of the international date line
We took off from Sydney at 10:19 PM Sunday and landed in Honolulu at 11:07 AM... Sunday. A 9+ hour flight. Time travel is hard
Bet hey, we're in Hawaii, so I can't complain
True
Second photo of the Sydney Opera House, taken less than a second after my previous post
To give you a sense of how dramatic the lighting change was: I took this photo a split second later. The ferry in the lower right was moving quickly to the right, and it's barely changed position in this photo
Lightning striking behind the Sydney Opera House. Photo taken tonight from the wharf in front of Como Sydney https://comoitalianrestaurant.com.au/
We grabbed dinner tonight at The Rocks in Sydney and mother nature put on a show
The skies turned black just before we headed out and I wondered if we should cancel our dinner plans
I'm glad we didn't
We took the ferry from Sydney's Circular Quay to Watsons Bay for lunch today
With Frank Thomas in the news for suing the White Sox, give his SABR bio a read. sabr.org/bioproj/pers.... @ericconrad.com and I went as deep as we could and even went over the word count a little. The break up was bad and the animosity continues to this day clearly.

A photo of the iconic Sydney (Australia) Opera House More details here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sydney_Opera_House
Hello, Sydney! This view of the Opera House never gets old
We're taking a ferry from Circular Quay tomorrow, will post closer photos then
Cassowaries are timid by nature, but yes: they can kill you. Especially if you attack them (human death #1). Or if you're literally Florida Man, holding them in captivity, and try to steal one of their eggs (death #2)
I'm team Cassowary on both counts

This photo of a Cassowary strolling down a Queensland beach while sunbathers casually (in classic Aussie fashion) catch some rays caught my eye years ago. Gifted article. 2/X

A photo of Cass the Cassowary at the Port Douglas Animal Habitat. Cass is sitting down and chilling out in the tropical heat
Green sign with a blue-necked Cassowary that reads: Here is the transcribed text from the sign: Introducing "Cass" Wildlife Habitat — Port Douglas Puts YOU in the ZOO! Species: Southern Cassowary Sex: Female Birth Date: 7 Nov 1992 Arrived here: 6 April 1993 Height: 1.6m Weight: approx 50-60kg Temperament: protective/aloof
Sign that says: Wildlife Habitat — Port Douglas Puts YOU in the ZOO! Rainforest conservationists Cassowaries are hard working conservationists who, by spreading seeds, help to retain the diversity of the rainforest. The Cassowary diet consists mainly of fallen fruit and fungi, but they will also eat small animals such as snails, frogs and snakes. Cassowaries swallow fruit whole, digesting the pulp and passing the seeds unharmed in large piles of dung throughout the rainforest. Some rainforest seeds need the process to germinate! So Cassowaries have been environmentalists for hundreds of years!
Finally managed to see a Cassowary at the Port Douglas Wildlife Habitat
They have a reputation as "the world’s deadliest bird" (which is overstated). Two confirmed deaths over 100 years, to my knowledge
They are a sight to behold. Meet Cass, who is chilling out

Cyclone Narelle's path moved a bit further north, and we're no longer under a cyclone warning in Port Douglas. We're getting bands of monsoon rain here (with sunlight in between). Surf's crazy. We're heading to Surfy's for happy hour to watch the ocean mayhem
CDAB
Stay safe, northern Queensland. I'll post a new thread tomorrow. 3/3

Everything is Australia wants to kill you, which makes it exciting (Surfy's is great) 2/X
