I finally finished this silly animation sketch.

The Tidebay city still has old houses that aren't adapted to all of the sharkfolk's heights, which means Roberto's clumsiness has some consequences! 💫

A concept art illustration exploring ideas for redesigning the tattoos of my sharkfolk character, Roberto. It shows the tattoos on his body from various angles. There are three tattoos in total: On his right arm: A misty moon between clouds. On his left arm: Stylized giant ocean waves that start on his forearm and end as starry nebulae on his chest. On his back: Some kind of mythological figure, a type of cosmic creature with three heads with stars in place of heads and a fish tail at the end, a kind of fanciful stylization of three shooting stars.

I had the idea of redesigning Roberto's tattoos to make them more meaningful, so I did some studies of how they would look on his body! 🦈✨

The illustration depicts an ancient, worn mural, representing a ritual for inducing premonitory dreams through a human fossil. Between two fish-shaped candlesticks, a sharkfolk lies asleep on a bed, covered by an ornate blanket, next to a pedestal on which rests a human skull adorned with a jewel on its forehead. Above, there is a representation of a dream where an unknown humanoid figure offers a kind of hourglass to the sharkfolk, who appears surprised. It is unknown whether the scene depicted actually happened and what its real meaning was.

Over time, mystical beliefs began to surround the fossil. It was said that sleeping next to it could induce premonitory dreams.

Scholars attributed the fossil's origin to a supposed ancient people who had fled into a collective dream, fading into their own dreams, hence the name "The Dreamfaders".
