Incredible birthday present: nine volumes from the 1980s Chinese Journal of UFO Research
The bigger picture is this mere "speech" are in fact products weaponized against consumers by highly sophisticated & predatory industries. Even if they're not addictions per se, the information & platform asymmetry puts users at a massive disadvantage, served up as easy prey.
Tons of things are terrible for individuals & society at large without being "addictions" per se. Are sedentary lifestyles due to "addiction" to laziness and not exercising? Probably not, but it's still bad for you and prevalence is bad for society at large. Same is true for porn, social media, etc.
Denying the existence of any behavioural addiction just reinforces the medicalization of bad habits. This contains discourse between two poles:
1. Social media is addictive & must be controlled by medical experts
2. It's not addictive & must be controlled by different experts (tech libertines)
Cystic Detective lets his hair down, though it may be falling out. Today's public update covers some scattered thoughts upon rereading Jim Garrison's On the Trail of the Assassins and contains a special announcement. Only on Getting Spooked: tannerfboyle.substack.com/p/cystic-det...
Zionists are worse than rabid dogs. A rabid dog only lashes out at anything around it, but zionists savour killing the weak and innocent. Our complicity in these crimes will come back to us a thousandfold.

We had Wendy on Getting Spooked just in time to discuss the bizarre & wildly irresponsible interview Jesse Michels did with Oklahoma City Bombing suspect, methamphetamine cook, and alien implant aficionado Steve Colbern. Passages on Colbern from Wendy's book Aberration in the Heartland of the Real:
Bulletin number 168 of the Scientific Instrument Society for March 2026. Blue cover with a photograph of a highly polished brass microscope in the centre.

This is a very good summary of the male experience. Yes you're a talking dog, but yes she does in fact mean you.
Digging deep in the Getting Spooked vault, I found a love letter to indie rock legend Robert Pollard, his band Guided By Voices, rising above expectations, and the creative life. Something a little different but important to me. tannerfboyle.substack.com/p/guided-by-...
I had a blast going on The Return of the Repressed with Marcus & Sebbe to talk about science in early modern Northern Europe, Swedish political & class history, and Olof Rudbeck's theory that Atlantis was actually in ancient Uppsala.

This week: how parapsychology, The Telepathy Tapes, and the "Skeptics" movement relate to the latest Epstein files releases. Also touched upon: The Phoenix Lights, Bradley’s finds at an estate sale, and I learn the strange terms Yanks have for hotdogs.

It's a good, breezy read despite the subject matter. Incredibly frustrating though because Steven Levy, like all journalists apparently, refused to cite any goddamn thing in the entire book.
Barb Bronfman quote from "The Unicorn's Secret"
Valeria Chomksy email: www.justice.gov/epstein/file...
Chomsky's wife Valeria telling Epstein he's the couple's "best friend" post-conviction in 2017 reminds me of Barb Bronfman saying that Ira Einhorn was "the best friend anybody could ever have" while he was on the lam in Europe fleeing his murder charge.
In many ways Einhorn was a proto-Epstein

Very curious email from [REDACTED] to Jeffrey Epstein in 2014 recounting a "top secret dinner" at a General Dynamics office building that concealed an occult library containing "unbelievable relics", including nazi paraphernalia, moon rocks, and "Vesalius stuff".
James Randi was in attendance.
From Episode 1 of Swords Into Plowshares. This show rocks.

"Discordian warlocks and unstable informants" is too 2022. "狐狸和老鼠" is what we're saying in 2026.

Randi's denial:
web.archive.org/web/20190131...
Randi alternatively claimed this tape was either altered by Byrd to defame him, or it was actually part of a police sting designed to entrap actual child predators.
He can't have it both ways, so seems to me Randi was just flailing for excuses after the tape was produced through discovery.
Listener question we answered on this episode: what evidence is there that James Randi was a pedophile?
The evidence comes from a defamation suit against Randi, as covered in this Baltimore Sun article. There's also a folder simply titled "Randi's Pedophilia" in Marcello Truzzi's archive at EMU.
To ring in the Gnome Year, gnomegang answers some questions posed by listeners. First, we catch up by talking about the Montauk Project, CIA magicians, the Canuck tucker convoy, & COVID-19, but we eventually get to two inquiries on our docket. tannerfboyle.substack.com/p/23-gnome-5...
It can sometimes feel like the history of the physical sciences is on its back foot. The AIP History Weekly Edition set out to show that, globally, there's so much going on that you can talk about it weekly and not get to everything. Here's some of what we couldn't get to in 2025. #histsci
I hate the satanic pedophile gangster state more than I can properly express
This was written in 1994. The imbalances in terms of persecution and sheer death toll are now even more stark.

I should've read this ages ago. A stunning book.
The Gnomiary are taking listener questions for our first episode of the new year. This is last call for requests before we record!
