My mother came in third (disastrous final round) on Jeopardy! in 1967, and believe me, what the sponsor interpreted as a year's supply of Rice-a-Roni went an awfully long way.
I love Rice-a-Roni and could easily blow through an entire year's supply in a year.
People in this country will go on a reality show just for the free therapy.
I enjoy watching old game shows and seeing how excited people get when they win a microwave or a year's supply of grapes.

All of the Founders' worst fears about how American democracy could go off the rails - lack of separation between church and state, a populist demagogue assuming dictatorial powers - are happening just in time for the 250th birthday

I do not want to create an account or open a subscription I just want to buy a thing and never hear from you again why is this so hard.
Today is the birthday of Bob Kaufman who wrote:
Believe in the swinging sounds of jazz,
Tearing the night into intricate shreds,

My most reactionary opinion: we need to bring back moderately priced and widely available paper versions of the Sunday paper. I used to love reading the Sunday NYT at the breakfast table on Sunday or at a restaurant while having brunch. Just an exquisite experience.
Some might call it a FΓΌhrerbunker.
