There are not radioactive emissions from well run plants. That is just horseshit.
It is emissions free, and right now we need to stem greenhouse gasses and carbon and is recognized as a legitimate carbon free power source of the future. Yes, expensive upfront, but these are built for 60-80 years.
And the second largest province Quebec is nearly 100% emissions free with 95% from hydro. So 2 provinces covering over 60% of the population is doing pretty good, but you’d never know it with the cbc.
BS. This article does but barely acknowledges the contribution of other non-emissions power generation- hydro and nuclear. Ontario for example is already 80% emissions free, which will go up once nuclear refurbs are completed and other planned and approved projects. More to do, of course
